I'm generally torn between Loners and Freedom in my playthroughs. Loners are just dudes escaping the world and going for a simple life. Some adventure, maybe some money and just existing. Freedom is similar but an actual cohesive group sort of. Just Loners with a gang. Duty is mission driven, Clear Sky are like outcasts with a scientific mission and a somewhat militaristic mindset. That's how I see them.

Realistically, it's a very tough decision to remain unaligned and be independent in The Zone, just as one would face living in our current society. Romanticizing about being a lone wolf in The Zone is a trap as deadly as The Zone itself. And yet...it is the path that I would choose for myself, in spite of all the dangers that I would face. I know that if I can master myself and my mind first, in the long term I would have a higher chance of survival. For me, there is no other way.

Loners are my go-to. Just regular stalker, working together with an unspoken bond of kinship. Unlike the factions, the loners aren't some huge coordinated group, but they do have each other's backs.

Nice video bro, It's good to finally see my favorite faction. Loner has always been my personal choice in the zone. It works well with the antihero play style that I prefer, wandering through the zone doing missions for the highest bidder. Building up an arsenal of weapons and artifacts, helping whoever I want along the way. Deciding whats right and wrong for myself, the essence of true freedom. Welcome to the human race.

They're really not a faction at all. I think the best way to look at it is just understanding they're you're average joes trying to make it and not wanting to get dragged down by ideology/tribalism.

@@IntoTheZone It's treated more like a general explaination for someone who's decided to go factionless, which is in itself a sort of psuedo-faction. the longer a "loner" lasts within the zone, the more likely a larger or more prominent faction will accept/claim them, though odds are not in any official capacity

Oh for sure buddy. Ive still got some basic lore to do. I plan on doing the remaining factions, mutants, and starting charachters and locations next. Im thinking lore videos at least once a week

You have some good stuff. Gave you a sub. For me, Loners and Mercs are my fav factions. Because they are similar but also different at the same time. What they share in common, is in my opinion, is that when I play as a Merc or Loner, I have this constant feeling of being alone and against all odds. I did not have that feeling when I was playing for example as Duty. Rostok always made me feel very very safe and comfy, where Dead City always keeps me on my toes as a Merc, with few half-secure places one can hunker down in. And as a Loner, the farther North i go, the more alienated I feel. Altough i prefer playing as a Merc, i will always say that being a Loner is the ultimate Stalker experience.

I align as a loner, but only because I prefer to not take sides. If I could, I'd even help downed enemies (and run away after patching them up) if I could. I dont care if your bandit, duty, clear sky or monolith, it pains me to see a downed Stalker that I can't help....

@@redrickschuhart3836 Why not, it helps my psyche to know that I helped even my enemie up, even though I know that one day that I may be under their barrel. While I dont fully adhere to Red cross standards, I prefer to do what I can, it helps with the pain and sorrow of the zone, of death and betrayal.

Loners are easily my favorite or 2nd favorite faction. Its between them and duty.

STALKERS or just, Loners are quick to raise their savings, all loot belongs to them, all items sold only for them, Only Bandits and Mercs are going to manhunt you down for your big stash. Military will shoot you if you get closer, Freedom, Duty, Scientists, will give you missions for more cash or items such as armor or weapons or food and artifacts. Most Experienced loners will have Exo-skeletons or high-end armors when you get deeper in the Zone, new Loners will mostly team up of 3 to 6 members in a camp alone to fight off, basically anything with their low-end weapons. Which is why i always play the benefit of being a Loner when Raiding bandit bases, of course alone and with a suppressed gun at first. If managed to pull off the raid. All loots there are basically yours, so it is a 50/50 chance of quick cash.. but the downside you are almost alone and without an ally unless you're very rich, following at your side and hoping they're not Mercs to backstab you.

Honestly i for me id probably join freedom if it weren't for the fact that i respect duty for what their goals are. I cant bring myself to be either factions enemy so i prefer the loners. I can see myself going to the zone with 3 or 4 trusted friends to make our fortune

Stalker's role are both in between Legal and Illegal. Legal because it is popularized by the public and the majority agrees that going into the zone is a choice. Illegal because the government finds them to be obviously a nuisance and a problem considering that they actually acquired armament and interrupting and intruding into hazardous zone. I do believe that Stalker are another saying of "Scavenger".

One thing I don't get about loners in Anomally MOD is they don't have a variety on end game tier armor selection. Sure, they have a radiation suits or exoskeleton, but THAT'S IT. They don't have their own Skat9 military suits, they don't have their own variant of "Nosorog" exoskeleton despite origin of this armor is from Fang witch is also loner him self. All they got is overpriced mediocre armor like wastelander suits, NBC suits, and some other crap separated from sunrise suits! It's BS!

I’m sad to say this but I’ve kill more fellow loners then bandits my first run cause they mixed with bandits my fire run in the middle of a firefight and I scoped in on one to better identify then sadly the rest is history.

Monolith gear is typically some of the best in the Zone. On my old Loner character in STALKER Anomaly, before I rage quit the story and restarted my game with it disabled, I found a Monolith Exoskeleton and felt about as invincible as you can be without using artifacts.
