Finally some gameplay from the actual game! Great video and good attempt! I really like the actual mission gameplay, while I'm not really sold on the Zone exploration phase as I find it too simplistic ...hoped they added more "layers" to the actual travel through the Zone, but it seems the exploration is limited to just choosing and resolving a sticker each turn. Anyway can't wait for my copy to arrive 😊😊

This is the first mission and zone layout. I should have talked a little more of what opens up if I would have won. There are some cool things that happen in all aspects of the game but 90% of this game is the mission for sure

Yes my dice were on fire!!!! I was planning on going stealth at the beginning but kept taking them out so fast. Sorry I wasn't able to show how stealth can make a difference. I know there are other play thoughs coming that will probably illustrate that better

I backed this and I’m pretty excited for it! I skipped the terrain and I’m still a bit back and forth on it. It looks so cool, but the board is also got a lot going on with anomalies and overlay cards. I’m not sure if the terrain would wind up being a bit too fiddly.

The terrain makes it look really cool but it is not needed. It does make the board really com alive, but you can always use your imagination 😃😃👍

Okay got my copy, we did it 2p with the same pair. The decoy action is actually pretty handy and you can stealth this a lot more than going guns blazing in this playthrough haha 💣. It also branched a little differently too. Very satisfying to get the artifact and block 11 dmg from a shotgun bandit.

After having played this along with Earth Under seige I see that this one is not meant to be entirely stealth like the other game. It’s a nice balance between the two while EUS is all stealth in that if ene,it’s are alerted an alarm goes off and you are pretty much done

Yes I feel that way as well. It’s good to have multiple ways to handle a situation. I actually am not so much a fan of games where if the alarm goes off it pretty much impossible to pull off the win. 😃😃👍

Hey Bairnt - what's you current feeling on the terrain ? Does it make the it difficult to see all the figures properly from different sides of the table (for those not playing solo) and does it interfere (or even make just plain difficult/impossible) placing or moving anomaly overlays ? It appears from your video (and from comments elsewhere on the net) that while looking great it is a hindrance to playing the actual game.

@@anzac_exile3780 it does look awesome on the table but does make it a little difficult to move around, but I have played without it and it’s just not the same. From what I have seen it is gear dependent except if you have the “stories expansion”. Then each stalker gets upgrades if they get through the story parts of the game. Of course there are secret boxes with the missions that I didn’t open so might be something in there as well but not sure 😃😃👍

It doesnt feel like you need to hide. All enemies were beaten out easily and its kinda strange that they cannot see someone sitting next to them diagonialy. I almost felt sorry about the bad guys.

Well to be fair I rolled unbelievably well. There was so reason I should have done that well against that many enemies I replayed the mission after I recorded it and I got demolished so fast using the same tactic. I need to be more sneaky lol!!! 😃😃👍

@@MeetMeAtTheTable No worries. Game is tricky to pick up. Our group made a ton of mistakes on our first play last night! We ended the game when someone died but apparently you’re supposed to get a critical injury? I was bummed you did not use Patron as i wanted to see how the dog takes damage (we had a grenade go off and kill it, but other than that its safe i guess?)

My intuition (not having read the rules or played the game) is that the artifact would make it so it always counts as minimum 4 radiation level for that character wherever they are.

Yes you will always have the radiation level of the highest artifact in your possession those containers are really helpful!!! 😃😃👍

But since that’s how hidden enemies are flipped, are you sure you skip the activations? Maybe it says if there are no enemies, but hidden enemies would be considered enemies for that?

Great question you could be right. I thought that if your adjacent to the terrain firing in they don’t get any bonuses but I’m not sure about them being in the anomaly. Let me know if you find anything. Thanks for the great comment 😃😃👍

Great to finally see the game "in the wild"! Btw, those two bandits that appeared in the electro anomaly, shouldn't they get zapped by it instantly? Or is it only if they moved? And the jellyfish, red dot and the gun you got, don't those go to the players backpack first and then you use "prepare" to equip them? So you are not forced to eat rads by finding an artefact. Could we get a session of the Zone Survival mode please! I would love to see that one in action.

Thank you yes it was great to get the game to the table. The guys that spawned from what I can tell only get zapped when they move. Also yes the things should go to the backpack but when you first get them I believe you can equip them for free at that moment. I could be wrong about both of those things so might want to check with an expert. Sorry if it was wrong. As for the zone part I may bring it back out after everyone gets a chance to play it. There are not many missions and a lot of spoilers in that part of the game. Thanks for the great comment and thanks for watching 😃😃👍

Yes the zone phase is where your group interacts with others and you can find/recruit other stalkers to use. And get more items weapons and gear there are three tiers of gear that can help you as you go forward
