As soon as the video starts, all I can think is “boy, stampedes are pretty side by side.”

There's an aluminium set that includes replacements for the big gear and the teeth along the plunger but it's expensive. It's possible that we'll get a steel version as well as a price drop.

AWESOME video. I've been wanting to see these reviewed since I'd heard about them.
@grubby-raccoon6 жыл бұрын
Really appreciate you making this, wish NFStrike paid more than like 60 cents for good video reviews or offered affiliate links. I think it's interesting that you mentioned that the stock gearbox breaks around 8kg, because the only (currently) stampede spring on NFStrike is 9kg. I guess I'd better not throw that in my stampede until I order a set of the gears.
@MisterNathan6 жыл бұрын
J yang the 8kg breaking point isn't definite, but that's when issues can start to happen. I believe the most common classic Stampede spring was an OMW, which I why I bring it up. I can't quote any experience personally, but I've done quite a bit of research on Stampede mods over the years, but just haven't had a chance to work on one yet. I've heard that Stampedes can be temperamental, and break under even stock spring loads, while others can handle much heavier loads without explanation...

I wonder if the nylon washers are intended on top - you did mention about plastic-metal interface. That said, unless they friction fit or you glued them in, there'd be the concern of them falling down onto the gears with use.
@MisterNathan6 жыл бұрын
Christopher Leow I test fit them in a few spots, but they didn't seem to "fit" anywhere correctly. I'll run the Stampy for a while and then check later for unusual wear, and see if the washers look like they fit that application.
@StuckOnAFireHydrant6 жыл бұрын
@@MisterNathan have you seen any unusual wear yet? I just put a set into mine and just want confirmation before I put it all back together and have to take it apart again

@@StuckOnAFireHydrant haven't noticed any ill behavior yet. Installed a wiring and spring upgrade over the weekend, and will put a little more use into it. If anything develops, I'll let you know.

I don’t know if the Australian stampede is slightly different I tried to slip on the sleeve spacer with multi grips and bent the crap out of the pin. Had to cut down a drill bit to use in its place. Fingers crossed it works without damage. I should have a short video up this weekend if you want to see my work. Cheers

Those sounded pretty nice. I wonder what proper shimming and motor height adjustment would do for the sound? I'm assuming it would make a difference because it sure as hell does in airsoft. Would also like to see your take on the artifact stampede stefan pusher if you intend to do any more stampede stuff.

I wonder why there aren’t replacements to all gears.
@MisterNathan6 жыл бұрын
Graham Turner we're getting there, slowly. NFStrike recently posted metal Slingfire gears, and with the Roughcut getting a recolor in the near future, hopefully a new demand will prompt gear replacements for it, as well. With an exploding aftermarket, hopefully we'll be seeing other niches like that being filled soon, too.
@FoamBlast6 жыл бұрын
We looked into it at one point in time, and it was prohibitively costly. Companies like lightake have partnerships with many different manufacturing companies, so they can get smaller runs done cheaply on custom parts. As the hobby continues to grow, we'll see more and more of this stuff popping up. :)
@bernie6046 жыл бұрын
that would be too expensive
