Hey, I admire you for figuring out a way to get extended use of our Stampin’ Blends. It is hard when we know we cannot order them now. :( But you have given us hope!

Bev you're hilarious! Hey, I figured it's better than them being disposable!

Great idea! If they are all used up & you would have to replace them anyway there’s no harm in having a go at refilling them.

Nice tips, but I'll stick with my Copics. They even have colors to match SU colors!

Sue M I totally understand! The key is to use and enjoy whichever you have! ☺️

Love to know which numbers/colors are the SU matches!

@@fransmith7905 I don't know if you have found this list yet, but if you search on Pinterest, you can probably find more than one person who has a chart cross referencing Copics and SU colors. Good luck. I understand wanting to have a readily available chart so you can match up your colors.

I reinked mine basically the same way. But, since the solution inside must have more than alcohol in them, I used the blending solution from Copic. Also, I think I did like 5 drops of ink in the dark and 3 and 5 drops of the blending solution. It worked well and they still blend very well, because they have blending solution. I almost tried alcohol, but I thought for as long as the solution will last, it is worth getting something that is made for the same thing.

Ooh, that's a great point. I've never used the Copic blending solution so that never crossed my mind!

@@CraftsBayou It is something I can only find online. I had a pretty good sized Copic collection before I signed up to be a demonstrator. So, over the last couple of years I have been buying the refills for them. The blending solution is what is used to refill the marker that is similar to what SU calls the color lifter. It is referred to the "zero marker" or "color blender." You can buy the solution in a bottle that I believe is a little more than 8 ounces or one that is about 2 ounces. Since there are a lot of fun things to do with it, every time I order enough that I can get free shipping, I add a large bottle of the solution. I get it from Dick Blick. They have times when shipping is free with a $39 order. The bottle of solution is around $11.80. So, if you find a couple of other people who want to order a bottle when you do, or even if you just find something else on their site, it is always nice to get free shipping when you are able! Or, you can skip all of this and just keep doing what you are doing. It seems like it was working fine =) I do really like the Blends. I feel like they work better than my Copics. I love having SU colors, but I don't like that SU is not doing the right thing, as far as the environment is concerned. They really should offer refills and let people have the opportunity to keep the empty ones out of the landfills. As forward thinking as SU tends to be, I was really surprised when they announced they had no plans to ever offer refills. Thank you for sharing your video. If nothing else, people who see it will think twice about throwing them away. You have done a good thing!

@@TheNumber1Aunt the blending solution of your copic marker is it the refill or just something more you add with ink and alcool? Or replaced alcool? Its not really clear in my head. I hope this trick still last over age, I was more on stampin'write just because someone tells me it was possible to refill. For sure its different product, the blends are way larger than stampin'write too...and not usefull for bullet journal or other that straight markers do. I hope the blending part still doing well after your refresh 😉 thanks for your sharing

My question is if you put the same number of drops of ink and alcohol in each marker how does it become the darker and lighter one? Great idea!
@CraftsBayou6 жыл бұрын
Juanette, I seriously don't know! 😂 Maybe I need to try more senarios. I'm guessing that it's just reactivating whatever is in there, but it would probably fade over time.
@sylviamosher20126 жыл бұрын
Good question, I would not try this until I knew the ratio of light & dark.
@CraftsBayou6 жыл бұрын
Sylvia mosher I totally understand. This is for sure just a back up plan if it’s running out and you need to make it work. Have you gotten the new colors?!!

@@CraftsBayou Has anyone found a ratio for dark to lighter shades? Would really love to find out...Thanks a bunch
@CraftsBayou5 жыл бұрын
@@dkwhite9930 Maybe so, but not to my knowledge. It was just my hack for them running out...not actually a substitute for them creating a true refill for the Blends. But if you or someone else finds the ratio, would you please msg me or reply here so we can learn, too?
