Here's a tip for using the extra color strips on the back of the stamp pads: use them to wrap around blending brushes for easy color-coding without having to look at the brush bristles or wrap them around the tops of re-inkers so you can easily see the color (if you store them upright) without having to pull out the whole bottle. Love your stamping style, Lisa. And your mole joke from a few weeks ago was priceless!
@stampingwithlisa2 жыл бұрын
Thanks so much Mari Beth! I use my blending brushes for multiple colors but I will do the ink refill one. I can’t ever read the name of it because the print is so small on the bottle. So glad you liked my joke! Lol!

HI AGAIN, Lisa! A REALLY GREAT VIDEO! I’m a “seasoned stamper” and I, too, learned a few “tricks” n’ suggestions along with some “good refreshers” as well! :-))) I’d asked about cleaning photopolymer stamps that “lost their sticky” n’ your tip is GREAT! WORKS LIKE A CHARM! :-)) I have BOTH the Stampin’ Scrub n’ the Shammy to clean stamps~~the Scrub is good for really deep cleaning, I think, especially on really detailed stamps! And for Stazon, too!! This was a WONDERFUL OVERVIEW of supplies/tips for beginners n’ “oldies”, Lisa but I also think your idea of videos w/a product focus is TERRIFIC, too! I’ll admit, I was a MICHAEL’S shopper at times (and Archiver’s, too, when they were in business) but it was MUCH MORE “HIT n’ MISS” especially w/ink n’ cardstock colors n’ matching w/DSPs!! Oh dear!! That CHALLENGE is GONE w/SU products!! THEY CO-ORDINATE EVERY TIME! And FINISHED PROJECTS TURN OUT “AWESOME”! :-)))). Your stamp trimming share here was VERY HELPFUL to me as I seem to “press my stamp too hard” into the ink~~I have to remind myself to just tap lightly!! Haha! (I even remember when we HAD TO TRIM OUT ALL STAMPS ~~ONLY RUBBER ONES THEN~~~so trimming just a bit to get rid of those “edge marks on a card” is a breeze!!). TFS n’ HAPPY STAMPIN’, TIPPIN’ n’ CREATIN’! SMILES from Madison, WI! :-)))

Hey again Judith! I'm so glad my tip for cleaning the stamps worked for you. I found that out by trial and error and I thought well maybe they just need a good wash. Worked like a charm. I love how Stampin Up products coordinate so well and I have to trim my stamps. I can't stand it if I stamp something and get an edge and I am usually very careful about tap, tap , tapping lightly but it still happens. It's worth the extra few minutes it takes to do it. Have a great day!!

Just an FYI - The actual weights are Color card-stock 80 lb; Basic White and Very Vanilla 80 lb; Thick white 100 lb; Vellum 43 lb; Watercolor 110 lb; Foil sheets 100 lb; Glitter paper 105 lb and Window sheets are 100-110 lbs. I love that the color card stock is colored all the way through and not white on the inside, that’s a big plus on making your cards look much nicer. Great video, thanks for the tips. I always had a hard time putting my stamps together because of the RA in my fingers, now I do it your way. Sure wish I could fix some of my “before Lisa” ones.
@stampingwithlisa2 жыл бұрын
Thanks so much for the info. THat's weird though. I was almost sure that the colored cardstock was 110 lb. If the thick white is 100Lb, it should be about the same. It is definitely thicker than the white and vanilla. I'm so glad you like my way of putting the stamps together though and it helps with your RA.

Great video Lisa! Even after 13+ years of using SU product to make cards, even tho I've been a demo for 10+ years, I picked up a couple tips from you. Many years ago, when I was a photographer in the Army, I stationed at Ft. Benning GA, where I worked with an old civilian man named Joe, doing medical photography at Martin Army Hospital. Our supervisor pulled me back to the Main Post Lab, and sent a different guy to work at the hospital with Joe to learn medical photography. Well, that guy made Joe so mad telling him he already knew everything about photography that there was to know, and that he was a professional, that old Joe about had a coronary, called our supervisor and told them to get that guy out of his lab and not to send him back. Told him to send Kitty Cat back! Lol! 😂 My last name at that time was Kitts bc of my 1st marriage, so Joe called me Kitty Cat. Anyway, the supervisor sent me back to work with Joe bc I was the only one who could get along with him. When I got back there, he told me what Sgt Grode had done to make him so mad, and then he said "Kitty Cat, as long as there is something left to learn, you are never a professional, you're just a well educated amateur!" Lol! 😂 I loved that old guy, and he taught me alot. He's gone now, had a heart attack and passed away out fishing a few years after I was transferred to Italy, but I've always remembered what he told me. Lessons like that keep a body humble, and help you avoid a case of the big head.🤣🤣🤣 I think it's wonderful that you are doing 101 classes for beginners. I wish my upline had been so helpful. Well, I guess I'll see your video tomorrow night. Since KZbin did updates and messed up my notifications, I may have to watch the replay. Have a blessed week. Hugs!!! 💖

Hey Kitty Cat! Now I have a nickname for you!! LOL! That is very true! None of us are perfect except for Jesus and none of us know everything either. I just learned a new easier way to do bows a couple of weeks ago too! I am going to try to do another stamping 101 video tomorrow. Just trying to think of topics.

Yes it does! Usually it gets a funky smell and gets kind of clumpy and just doesn't melt right. Kind of like spices. I had white embossing powder turn yellowish too.

They look Store bought. On the video, what you said about buying paper from Micheals, well that's me. I have bought from several different stores when paper and stamps are on sale. I do try to get the heavier paper. My question to you is, does stampn up have pictures and instructions on how to make a card with your paper. Hi Lisa! I enjoyed the ver informative video. Do you have a tip on the best way to remove Tombow glue from your hands? I have very dry hands/ skin, and I don't like using glue very well because of getting it on my hands and then having a difficult time getting the glue of my dry hands. Any ideas or tips? I usually scrub and scrub on my hands, but still have some glue residue on my h ands until it just wears off; and I highly dislike that!
@stampingwithlisa2 жыл бұрын
Hi Sherry! I use that glue all the time and usually if I get a little but in my finger or something I just wipe it off with a baby wipe right away or wash my hands. I’ve never had a problem getting it off. Try washing your hands and then put lotion on. I’m constantly putting lotion on so I think that helps too.

On stamps, when we get new stamps, can we do something to make stamps, stamp more clean. Not sure if it the correct word to use but the stamp and ink don't stamp pretty! Sometimes there's bubbles or something. What can we do to the stamps both the red or clear. Some people say use your finger and rub the top of the stamp, use microfiber cloth, use Versamark. What is the Best to make your stamp, stamp pretty without things on your ink or stamps. Please, HELP! Thanks about cleaning the stamps so the can stick to your block, wow didn't know what to do! One thing, do we have to live a comments to get a free card. I haven't gotten or drawn to get a card from you. Am, I doing or saying something wrong? Sorry, if I am. I love your cards and you! Anyway thanks the wonderful treats, tips and other. What about the pick tool?👍🙏💘
@stampingwithlisa2 жыл бұрын
Hey Maria! Sometimes when I get a new stamp set, I will use a nail file and just rub it across the top of the stamp and it will take off any residue or bumps like that. Also make sure your ink pad is not too juicy. I take a bone folder or spoon and rub it across the top of the pad. I’ll show that on another video soon. As far as the comments and the free cards, I could’ve sworn that you had won one recently. I’m so sorry. I don’t really keep a list of who wins, but I try not to pick the same people over and over. I’ll make sure you get one soon.
