Stan Collymore and 5 live listener Douglas in Glasgow disagree about whether Stan's reaction to abusive messages on Twitter is effective.
Police are investigating a series of racist and threatening messages sent to the former footballer, Stan Collymore, on Twitter.
He's accused the social networking site of not doing enough to stop the death threats and insults which followed comments.
Twitter says it can't comment on individual cases.

Stan is full of crap. He blocked me from his Twitter over a football argument I was never insulting towards him he just didn't have the intelligence or the facts to back up what he was saying. I don't condone the abuse he's received but when he hasn't the ability to defend his points he shouldn't be allowed on social media

I follow the guy on twitter who sent these tweets. He is far blacker than Stan and sent them purely for this reaction. Im pretty sure he was the only person sending them and its mostly just stan freaking out when people disagree with him which he does on a daily basis. Couldn't argue with some of the points Stan made because even if it was just one person making racist comments, Then it is one too many ! I could also see the callers point of view when he said it was a small minority of nutters because that is the case in reality. At the end of the day though anyone making racist or extreme view should be nicked on the spot because you would on the street, So there is no difference. Some people are harsh on Stan Collymore because he is giving his opinion on a show he is invited onto so people are ripping into him. You might not agree with some of the things he says but why bring up things that happened in his past ? Just because someone makes mistakes in their life do we then hold it against them for the rest of their lives ? So you make a mistake then that renders you as someone who shouldn't be qualified to have an opinion ?
