I rode with Roy Rogers at the empire and I was the only one and had a photo taken with him I was then 14 years old I am now 77 years old and never forgotten that day.

As I grew up with Roy Rogers as a child in the 40’s, it’s now some 60 years later, and it’s still difficult to imagine a world without Roy Rogers in it….much like Billy Graham and his team, they provided excellent pathways for us to model our lives bye….never a hint of scandal or uncivil behavior….I must say that every time I hear his son Dustys’ tribute to him, it brings big time tears to my eyes….Oh how I wish that I could have seen the beautiful museum that was dedicated to Roy & his family….may the good Lord welcome ROY, Dale, Bullitt & Trigger, along with their family, when they reach their final home….

Roy was a National Hero to all of us growing up in the 40’s and 50’s…and now many decades later, I have found that the values and lessons in life that he gave way back then, he stood tall as testimony to his example…I have found it ironic that both Roy and Gene Autry died in 1998…He always lit up the scene while he was with us…and his glow will persist…

I imagine if all those cars and trucks on the highway knew who the funeral procession was for, pretty much all would have stopped. The world surely does need Folks like him now days. I am a young person blessed to be raised on Roy and Dale and all the others. It makes me so sad to think that my generation and those younger and a few older don't Know Who Roy Rogers and Dale Evans is. They spent pretty much their whole lives for the young. It would have been so much better for th he world if children had never stopped watching and loving them.

My maiden name was Corliss, and I had a cousin Stanley Corliss. There were a lot of Corliss’s in my part of Michigan. My dad was one of 7 boys in his family.
