So instead of oh, I don’t know, maybe raising his child in a supportive environment that teaches how to overcome challenges and provides a safe base to help his son feel confident enough to start learning that on his own Stan completely ignores the problem until his teenage years then projects his own trauma onto him assuming said trauma is the only way to learn the lesson he’s trying to teach. And I’m supposed to like this guy? I mean really, the idea that you need to experience trauma to be able to overcome adversity is just what messed up adults say so they don’t have to admit they suffered for nothing. There’s thousands of ways to learn every lesson, your shitty childhood might very well have taught you some valuable lessons but that doesn’t mean everyone needs to suffer like you did. But I guess that’s just me overthinking an adult cartoon 😆
