Pick up the adventures of Earth's Mightiest Heroes from day one with the Marvel Masterworks! Comicdom's greatest assemblage of super heroes burst onto the scene in 1963 as Marvel Comics revolutionized the comic-adventure art form. Gathering together to face the evil Loki, Iron Man, the Incredible Hulk, Ant-Man, the Wasp, and the Mighty Thor formed the improbable core of the ever-changing super-team. But it was three issues later when, from the ice of the northern Atlantic, Captain America returned from the frozen depths that the Avengers truly took form. Illustrated by Jack Kirby and Don Heck, and written by Stan "The Man" Lee, you'll find the first appearances of Kang the Conqueror, Wonder Man, the Space Phantom and Baron Zemo, the debut of the Masters of Evil and the Hulk's departure from the team, and subsequent battle with the Sub-Mariner vs. the Avengers. They're Marvel Masterworks one and all! Collecting The Avengers #1-10. Never miss an episode by subscribing today! bit.ly/2WYvgkt #avengers #ironman #marvel

@@shiningnight12 That is LITERALLY true! Marvel's publisher at the time wanted Stan to create a team of superheroes because DC created The Justice League of America, only HIS idea was to revive pre-existing heroes like Cap, The Original Human Torch & Toro and the Sub-Mariner. Basically do what Roy Thomas eventually did when he created "The Invaders." Instead of doing that, Stan just created a super-team from scratch about the same time as DC created Challengers of the Unknown, a non-super-powered team who wore uniforms and did dangerous heroic things because they were living on "borrowed time." The '60s were an interesting age for comics...

@@camerondalton1495 At no point did I say that the MCU was bad. I just said that the animated series came closer to telling the stories that the original comic book series told. Here are two examples: Krantz's interpretation of the origin of Spider-man and all of the live-action versions and the animated Ultron origin and Avengers: Age of Ultron. How many young people know that it was Hank Pym who built the original Ultron versus seeing Tony Stark & Bruce Banner constructing it on the big screen? Probably the same amount of young fans who asked when they picked up recent Marvel issues "Who's the old white guy with the eye patch?"

Oh man, this was great. Thank you for another great Back Issues. Found this one especially interesting. Normally that era is too cheesy/corny or just too foreign to the characters I love today to give it much thought. Definitely have a new appreciation for these classics. Now you've got me curious about that era's Black Widow. And omg that Thor-lava moment needs to be in Love & Thunder. Can you imagine?😂

I thought the Avengers book came about because Daredevil’s debut was delayed? Either way, we got a $23B team out of it, so I’m happy lol

I now want the MCU to retcon that the Fantastic Four have always existed, but just never took the Avengers' calls and told them to piss off
