Stan was a very old man at this time. But he had his friend Todd McFarlane up there with him backing him up. Although he was slower in talking than he used to be. He still had his wits. I disagree with these people saying "Poor Stan". Are you kidding? Stan LOVED the fans, he loved being a part of all this. Moments like this were probably some of the last great, beautiful times of his career. Every person in that crowd was looking at him with total love and reverence. Todd included.

@jon pork Fun Fact: Jack Kirby wrote those Marvel Comics and drew them. Stan Lee edited the dialogs suggestions left by Kirby on the Margins of the artwork. Like Alan Moore said, Stan Lee fancied Jack Kirby stories and dialog suggestions.

Man I love Mr. Lee, it is so hard to watch this now since his passing. I really miss him, seeing him here in this video 9 or more months before his passing is so sad. You can see very visibly he is not in his best shape. I never met him but I feel as if I understand his look on life. - Luke

I look back at the The Comic Book Greats VHS where Stan interviews Todd as his guest, then watching this interview decades later, Todd returning the favor to Stan. Something about that warms my heart and is just beautiful. It all came around full circle in the end. These two are legendary!

This was fantastic. Stan is still creating characters, which is incredible at his age, and still working. I'm kinda' blown away that the audience was so small for these 2 giants in the industry... like completely gobsmacked, as they say. I guess most of them are too young to even understand who they're seeing.

Stan probably knows those vitriol wasn't aimed at him. He was the face of Marvel, sure but he wasn't the owner. Todd always says that his problem wasn't with his fellow creatives like artist, writers and so forth. It was with the suits, probably the same suits that was sued by Stan Lee for not paying him.

He was battling pneumonia at that time and being abused by his caretakers. I wish the tail end of his life was happier for him. But he did see a lot of his accomplishments pay off big time, but even so. It’s sad to see him like this.
