I was a teen in the 80's and I got into bboying. I am now in my 50's and I never get tired watching this. I don't care if some say it had become more of a gymnastics or acrobatics. It is still art and skill and deserves to be in the Olympics. It is insane how the new bboys defy the laws of physics now.

I'm like you, also in my 50's and I still LOVE dancing. I have a fat slob of a "neighbor" who derides it as "acting like a kid", but I mostly ignore the slob, knowing he's expressing his envy and jealousy. I'll dance until I can do it no more! Have a good one!

@@davidreveles5093 I don't breakdance, but I appreciate it/love it. I still dance; a young girl "caught" me dancing at work and said I could dance, so I still have it, nice to see someone else out there my age still loving it---have a good one!

I'm only 14 but 80s sounds so cool, seems like everything we have today skateboarding, graffiti, bmx, rap, hip hop, and breakdancing came form the 80s and it so cool on how these things have stayed strong over the years and the way they've grown makes it even better and I enjoy ppl like you who experienced the roots of culture and sharing it so thank you 😊

I used to watch all the break dancing in the 80's, and loved it. I didn't think anything was ever going to top those moves then. Boy, was I wrong! Over the years, the moves and talent from these individuals just keep getting better and better. Hats off to all you dancers out there.

Y'all think 8:20 is influenced by jazz dance, tap dance, or feedback please. Their movements are incredible works of art in motion. From an old head bboy, I am in awe of how this dance has evolved. Much respect to all the athlete dancers in this vid keeping it with a sharing spirit full of skill, attitude, and surprises. No one does it better🏆

This is so cool. I do Irish Dance, so pretty much the exact opposite of this, but I respect these people so much. I don’t have the natural ability to feel the music. At first glance, this form of dance looks chaotic, but when the dance moves hit the beats of the music, wow, just wow. I’ve been dancing a few years and I still struggle with being “on time.” Or when a few of them are dancing together and all have to be spot on…so impressive.

I used to watch the guys in the PJs I grew up in. there was a guy named Bishop, (I seem to recall, I was like 6, or 7,& it was the early 80s ) he was really good. Anyway they would lay out a huge thing of cardboard to practice on, & the first time I was referred to as "dude" was by Bishop. I asked if they mind if I watched them, Bishop said nah dude, it's all good" or something very similar. I later asked my sister's boyfriend what dude meant.. he laughed, & said" cool guy" . Dumb, I know but I was a kid, Bishop was the local badass, it stuck. Still wish I could dance like that.

I know NOTHING of break dancing, always love watching it. BUT I have a theory and was wondering if someone could validate it. See 9 videos in, I always thought the pre-routine was lame, but by the time of ISIS, I noticed something. It's the limbering up time... like I'm sure they stretch and what not before hand, but by the time you're standing there and have stretched you need to re-limber yourself. AND BASED on those warm-ups you can kind of predict their routine. It's very fascinating. Something I wouldn't have picked up on if I didn't see them back to back. It took 9 videos to realize this pattern.
