Wow, I just love your demonstrations! I am new to all this and I can actually understand what you are doing. I am so anxious to go load my second quilt. Hello; new to longarming so sorry if this is a silly question. Does it matter which direction the leader pins are facing? I think it was suggested to have the sharp ends facing away from the center so that when you smooth the quilt top and or backing as you roll the poles up, you don't catch yourself with the sharp ends and bleed over your quilt. I see you have the sharp ends pointing to the center of the quilt. Just making sure I'm doing things correctly. Thanks!!

You can put the pins which ever direction you like. The very end pins should be double weaved and pointing to the center to really hold the fabric in place though.

WHAT is the advantage/disadvantage of using the standard load vs. the Clear View load? In other words, Why would you use one load over the other? I'm not getting the reason for each way of loading.

Hey Nancy - thank you so much for asking this. The reason for loading with the Clear View - is for easier use of rulers. With the quilt loaded in clear view - the rulers can clear the front of the frame. I hope this helps.
