Standard Parade for 1939

A lot of the animation in the parade before the dwarves appear is from a short in 1932 that was unreleased to the public and meant for a handful of people. The short was called "Parade of the Award Nominees". Along with the short, it was really the first mickey mouse short in color.

The beginning of the Standard parade is exactly the same used in 'Parade of the Award Nominees' which was used to introduce the 1932 Oscar nominees. 'Parade of the Award Nominees' was also the first cartoon where Mickey Mouse was shown in color.

Much of the lead-up to the Technicolor 'parade' certainly wants to remind us of Walt's achievements and progress the studio has made since day one. I wonder how many trophy cases had to be set up just for the studio's output alone? ;-)

Walt would never do this. As he is quoted "You can't top pigs with pigs" This was from how he had a huge success with "The Three Little Pigs. He mad sequels and they didn't do well.
