I just bought a moxie on a loft frame. I searched everywhere trying to find an explanation of the high standard or low clearview. You nailed it. Thank you!!

When I got my machine (3 weeks ago) I was only taught to float so I have no idea how to correctly load a quilt with an attached top which I think I should be doing until I gain more experience and can make a more informed decision on whether I want to float my top or not. I have been watching your videos on the different loading methods and I love how thorough you are and how you explain everything including the 'whys', not just do it this way. They are a big help for this green newie and I feel like I am learning a lot! Thank you so much!

My sister is “vertically “ challenged and was standing in front of my amara trying to reach and now I can try to make it easier for her. Thank you 😊

I am vertically challenged (4f 11.75in) and I find standard view difficult to work over the top of the top bar. But being so short means I don't have as far to get to the ground to change my bobbin and oil my race😜🤣🤣🤣 There's pro's and con's to everything! Thanks for another great tutorial Adam 🇦🇺❤️

If I were out of bobbin thread and time to put a new one and oil the area I would bring the machine to the side end by the bungies...no quilt and batting to block my view and access to the bobbin area. I would need to stitch a little to the side after a bobbin change and oil. What is meant by floating a top and what are your thoughts on that type of loading? Would that do away with the front bar? Thank you for your great video explaining the pros and cons of both loads. Love your burrito wrap method and snappers too!

I also move my machine over to the side anytime I change a bobbin. In Clear View, it's just a little harder to get to the bobbin area, as you have to go under the bars and back up. Floating is when you don't attache the top of the quilt to a leader, you just have it laying over the side of the frame and it's not for me. I like the security of having my tops pinned on. I find I can keep things much straighter that way. I know many people who float but I'm just not one of them.

I love having a variety of ways to do something so thank you! Also, magnets are the future of everything...in my opinion. I can see a metal bar going through the hem like the red clamp system and then you can use magnets to attach. Magnets are easier for hands that hurt for certain. I can even see a horizontal bar at the end (connecting the two bars that are the same height) to attach the side of your quilt instead of using a bungee and clamp... I saw a tutorial where a homeschool mom put sheet metal on her wall so the kids can play with magnets and I am thinking to do a corner of my sewing room that way so that I can use it when I quilt with an embroidery machine to make the bulk of the quilt "weightless' instead of buying that $300 weightless frame. I can think of all sorts of ways to use a wall that works with magnets.

Thank you SO much for this. I put only one bar on the front to hold my backing - got rid of the top bar and just float my tops and batting. Considering maybe not doing that!

If floating your top is working for you, don't think that you have to pin your top. There is nothing wrong with floating, it's just not for me. Are you using Standard View or Clear View? I find in Standard View, even when you float, that top bar gives just a bit of tension and leveling that helps keep everything in place.

Adam, thanks for all this good information. My newly installed Gallery 2 frame doesn’t shift easily at all from standard to clear view. Is there a lubricant I should use to make it move easier?

Thank you for posting this. I have the Clear view (2nd choice option). Can you show us the burrito style loading the frame using this style? I really like that burrito style but I try and modify it from my frame. I think I have it but would love a video showing a large quilt put on. Thank you. Enjoy your videos.

Are there photos somewhere that I can use to distinguish the loading differences? I've watched video after video and I get confused. I'm a visual learner. Pictures are best for me.

I noticed you have some webbing pinned to the side of your backing/batting instead of the bungee clamps. Do you do that to avoid hitting the bungee clamp with your ruler base?

Hi Adam, do you ever "float" your top quilt and get rid of the top bar alltogether when using standard view?

Adam, I just recently found your videos and now I’m a stalker! Lol. I have the Amara with pro stitcher on order yay. My question is I’m only 4’ 11” tall, do you think loading a quilt in clear view will work best for me. This will be my first long arm machine.
@adamsewfun.
@adamsewfun. 3 жыл бұрын
Kateina, I think clear view will work best for you. It’s easy to switch back and forth, so you can try them both out but Clear View will keep you from having to work over the bars.

Hi Adam, You mentioned channel locks. I tried the manual channel locks and they are not very accurate, esp the vertical ones bc there is so much grease on the back wheels they won’t even stay on. Are the electro-magnetic ones very accurate (much more than manual ones) ? And if so, how accurate? Then, are the prostitcher channel locks even more accurate than the electro-magnetic ones, or the same? I don’t want to invest a lot of money in something that is unreliable. Have you used all three to compare?
@adamsewfun.
@adamsewfun. 3 жыл бұрын
Both the electro-magnetic channel locks and the ones included in the Pro-Stitcher are very accurate. The magnetic locks actually add a powerful magnet that holds the machine in one direction, you are also given a switch to change back and forth. The Pro-Stitcher locks hold with the gears. I use the PS locks because I have a PS but have used them the most and love them. I have used the magnets at shows and they hold strong.

Would you show a close up of the ratchets in both views? I want to make sure I'm using the correct one in clear view.
@adamsewfun.
@adamsewfun. 2 жыл бұрын
I can’t post a photo here, but in clear view you use the first and the third. So when it’s actually in clear view, it’s the top and the bottom one. The middle and bottom or 2nd and 3rd are used in standard view.
