Standing Ovation Performance of BANIG in Arsenio Hall Show

Banig wowed the audience in her first U. S. TV show appearance with her superb rendition of "Get Up, Get Down, Get Funky, Get Loose", a hit song of Teddy Pendergrass in "The Arsenio Hall Show" in June 1989. She finished the performance with standing ovation from the audience.

when i remember correctly, she used to be a contestant of Tawag Ng Tanghalan with Bert Tawa Marcelo and Pilita Corales and during the interview it was known that she used to pee in Banig during her sleep , Thus he was named Banig by Bert Tawa

What I like about Banig as a performer, she has her own style and can really rock the house, total performer talaga. Bata pa yan pinapanood ko na sya sa Bagong Kampeon. Wala kang makikitang pinoy artist nowadays na gaya nya(except gary v). Charice is also good pero wala sya sa mga favorite artists ko. heheh. Leah Salonga at Banig and top favorites ko. I can't forget those days when my family used to watch her in Tawag ng Kampeon hosted by the late Bert "Tawa" Marcelo and Pilita Corrales. We were watching that singing contest religiously because of BANIG. By the way, it was the late Bert Tawa who coined her named as BANIG. I am very happy for her! And for those who don't know why she is called BANIG, the late BERT TAWA MARCELO used to tease her for peeing on BANIG when she was still very young.
