Do patents still play an important role? What if a big player infringes your patent by intention and pay their way out? It takes 18 to 30 month to get your patent. If we look at the speed of development, will not be the most products be obsolete by that time. Maybe a secrecy protection model like CoCa Cola or build in fences against reverse engineering work better. Maybe it is in our time enough to play with provisional patents?

its interesting, but the whole endeavor will be must more interesting and honest when society accepts the illegitimacy of a government protected (under the threat of force) monopoly over IDEAS, which, not being matter, are infinitely reproducible. The State has no incentive for fair play in the world of ideas and has a long history of retarding progress in the name of "IP". Society will spot this fallacy, and find a better way to protect and honor creators of ideas in the future, i just know it!
