An early morning thunderstorm woke me up too early so I put on some coffee and gave this whittle a try. I ended up carving two of them. Thanks for the video!

Great video. As a beginning carver, I wish you could put a link to a dimensioned sketch in the description box below. Nothing too fancy or laborious. I know that you showed the overall dimensions with your ruler, but being a terrible drawer, I always struggle with the curvy lines. I tend to make things too fat or too thin or way out of proportion. Love your videos. I keep watching them over and over to get inspired and gain confidence in my own attempts. I am curious though, as to why you use a cumbersome Stanley knife instead of a regular carving knife.

Hi Rodney. Thanks for watching and commenting! I uploaded an image file with some dimensions. Check the "about" page on my channel for the email - shoot me a message and I will send you the access. I own quite a number of whittling/carving knives. The Stanley 199 is surprisingly easy to use and I find it gets the job done. The thin/flexible blade is actually quite effective for small to medium size projects and not really cumbersome at all. 👍✌

Did you have to do anything special to get the blade to hold itself way out of the tool like that?

The blades are Lenox Gold. The have 4 notches that allows for a bit more extension. 👍✌

@@WhittlingWoods that’s good to know. Thank you. I know where there’s a Lennox dealer nearby. They should have them.
