That seems decent. If you ever find an old one made by Stanley or Millers Falls snatch it up. They blow those and chop saws out of the water when it comes to precise cuts.

You can only lock the saw is certain angles, what if you need to cut in between?

I don't what would be faster it or a chop saw. Because a chop saw has a abrasive blade and is for cutting metal ;)
