Aluminum has a tensile strength of 276 MPa and a density of 2.81gcm-3. Aluminum is, therefore, lighter than steel. Stainless steel has a tensile strength of 505 MPa and a density of 8 gcm-3. Stainless steel is, therefore, stronger than aluminum.

If concerned that the plastic lid would melt in an open campfire, there is a stainless steel lid that comes with the children’s play cook set from IKEA which fits perfectly. Also nests right on top of the Stanley lid with the handle folded down .

When I wash mine I pull off the neoprene sleeve. Unless it’s really dirty, it’s better to just set that aside until everything is washed and dried. That way there won’t be a moisture buildups inside the pot.

Stanley was insane to put those indentations inside the plastic cup. Imagine trying to clean oatmeal or mashed potatoes out of it.

if you need a metal lid then Stanley has two options for you. The is the Stanley Adventure camp set for like $14 and the Stanley 13 piece cook set for about $35. both have metal lids for placing in an open flame fire.

David McBeardface that's a great question!! I don't have an actual 32oz Nalgene but if you look up the diameter measurements of both products you may find it actual fits. That would be a great combo set if it fits.

I liked it till I saw the awful spork 😞 I could have just bought the kit, used a different spork, and forget about the junk one that came with it. However, the way they made the cup with the built in bracket to hold the spork would make it harder to clean, and remind me of the crappy spork every time I used it.

@@waynethebarber1095 agree, you have to be careful about many videos on KZbin, lots of them are just to give great reviews on crappy stuff to get more free stuff, granted I’m not implying this is the case since I’ve mostly been happy with Stanley products but I’ve seen some great reviews on solar power stations just because they got it free, buy from their link, making more $, a friend got burned buying one of these, after the waste of big money he spent the KZbinr made money and more freebies. Another one was doing a giveaway which are mostly products they’ve used for videos and look new, I supposedly won but here’s the catch, had to pay $50 for shipping a small item that’s probably $5 shipping and sending money via PayPal not to him but to a friend of his……royal scam, didn’t do it. Again I’m not talking about this particular video/ person.
