This DOES use the version of source that portal 2 was built on..

Older source engine, the one halflife 2 episode 2 and possibly 1 used. the point is they use the same engine ( which explains the options menu seen in the raphael trailer )

The dialogue changes on subsequent play-throughs if you enter the broom closet again, with the narrator becoming increasingly exasperated. The third or fourth time, the broom closet is boarded up so you can't enter it. :-)
