I saw The Lovely Bones not long after it first released then again a few nights ago. Mr. Tucci's character in that movie is one of the creepiest and best played monsters that I've ever seen in a movie. I'll admit that I haven't seen many other works that he's been in, but I'll definately make a point to watch more of his work. Outstanding acting. I don't know how people do it, getting into the head space of pure evil and psychotic sickness. I've read and seen in interviews with other really talented performers that it's a method and a talent. I doubt that I could ever even attempt to play a murderous child predator without going strait to a nut hatch for a very long vacation.

Honestly. I think it’s the fact that there are real people like this in the world. They’re everywhere. We might know someone like this. That’s terrifying. He still scares the hell out of me because of how real he is.

My mom made me watch the movie at 9 years old when me and my friends took 🍬 from a stranger. Good move on her part because that movie scared the living crap out of me

I am planning to show this movie to my daughter when she is around from 8 to 10. She is 4 now, planning on to show my 12 year old son. It happens to boys too. The idea of it happening to my children is heartbreaking.

I read somewhere that many actors and actresses enjoy playing the villains more because it's fun! It's a release.

oooh19 yeah but this is different. It's the sick psychology of a kidnapper, rapist and murderer. He felt incredibly uncomfortable playing him as he was so so so creepy.

Maisie Feek Not to mention the fear that I’d imagine he had that he would be associated with a child rapist and killer just because he played one in a movie.

I could see how that could be true for like, a super villain in a marvel movie or something like that. But not a role like this.

Stanley Tucci was great in the movie but, he was a horrible human being. I thought his death in the movie was surprisingly unexpected and quick. It just speaks to his being a Consummate professional.

i'd think it's to remind children how really are if they happen to meet very, very bad people, who prevent them from realizing they are in true and awful danger. and the movie succeeds in doing just that!
