I loved the story about plucking the pheasants! I grew up in Ireland, and my uncle used to shoot pheasants and send them to us in Dublin. It was my job to pluck them! (I also used to skin rabbits.) I've watched Stanley Tucci's Searching For Italy Season 1 more than once (Season 2 not available here). Such a joy - and I've learnt a few things. :)

My mom's Mother tried to pay my Dad once for a chocolate bar he gave her; actually one each to both, my Dad refused. She then tried to give it to my mom who already had her own. After my Grandmother tried again to pay my Dad for it, he said, "well, if you don't want it, I'll eat it." And he did.
