I remember as a nipper finding the good professor's talks simultaneously entirely clear and utterly incomprehensible. I later had the same experience when studying continental philosophy, and, more recently, its poisonous spawn critical theory.

He was so familiar with his own vocabulary that he could extemporise in any situation. But he was meticulous about continuity, so once he had it down, he could do the same spiel again and again.
