I'm the guy in Florida missing out on all of that... Born and spent 18 yrs down here, joined the Coast Guard, and spent 25 years in northern MN and MI. Moved back to FL 10 yrs ago. I don't miss the snow all the time, but I do miss it enough to watch all your snow related content along with spending a couple weeks up the U.P. each winter snowmobiling with friends. Thanks for the shout-out 😉

Hey, rain or not, it was just cold enough overnights to justify salt over here. I am done with salters though, were going to brine next season. I use brine now on our atv and utv and wow does that have a massive effect on customer happiness. Burn down is instant, nobody tracks in salt into the expensive lobbies and whatnot, I cannot tell you how much praise it brings.

Stan, I do believe you have the best employees around buddy! I remember back in the 70's and 80's my dad was a city mechanic up in WV, they'd call him out when it snowed and he might be gone for 3 or 4 days until all the roads were cleared. That's back when it snowed so much us kids could dig tunnels thru the snow from being so deep😄 Those were the good ol days... God Bless brother 🙏 Jay.
@deanmeyer1815 Жыл бұрын
Man, that makes for some loooong days! But, ya gotta make hay while the snow flies.😁 Here in Illinois, just east of Moline, we have had a little over 6 inches of snow so far this season and about 2 inches of rain. We did have some below zero weather around Christmas. Just got enough to get some ice fishing in between Christmas and New Year’s Day and again the next week before it warmed up and melted along shore where we go. The storm you are in is supposed to be here tomorrow and dust us with up to 3 inches. Be careful out there.

I have really enjoyed your videos and have a ton of respect for you with the attention to details you follow through on. So I was very surprised when you drove off with a foot of snow on top of your truck like that. It even fell forward over your own windshield when you pulled up to the worksite. This may have been the only time you have ever done this, but how bad would you have felt if that had blown off onto some families windshield behind you and possibly killed them. I’ve had snow hit my windshield on the highway from that and I was lucky I did not do any panic maneuvers and everything was ok. I wish more people would think of this before jumping on the roads. I will continue watching your videos because you really display a lot of up standing qualities to everyone around you.

The one thing I have found out in my years of snow plowing is that the more people and equipment in a lot the less efficient you are. You always have someone who leaves snow piles for the next guy to pick up with bigger equipment and someone will get stuck in the snow pile. One thing I would do is follow the trucks to the loading docks find out the dock they were going to plow it out and around it and get the hell out of the area. My job was to keep the trucks moving at the factory in and out. There was a public street not part of the plow contract I would plow it anyway free of charge to keep the factory open. The detention down time was $15,000 dollars a minute if you shut down production at the GM factory. It was a supplier for GM factory. Sometime more is not better.
