I purchased these a week before the blizzard. I did about three days of snow removal and profited more in those three days then a week in lawn care. Echo is my choice. I have over 6 attachments all brand new this year.

I bought an older PAS-235 with the broom attachment used. I bought it mainly to sweep the crusty layer of gravel, sand and gunk off the top of my grass from where the city wings the snow from the street on to our boulevard. It works great. It keeps my lawn healthy and the soil level from building up each year. I bought the trimmer attachment and it's now my go to trimmer. The power head is 10-12 years old and still goes like a champ. When it does finally die, I'll upgrade to the PAS-280

I use my Pas 280 for the same thing- Its a great broom to remove aggregate from grass.

how can you not use a shovel to sweep snow away from the door?????
@GeeksThroughoutTime7 жыл бұрын
I rented one of these (with paddle) today to get rocks and gravel off my lawn. That's a job I do every year after plowing snow my rural property all winter. I have to say that it did a good job, but three hours of doing it was more than I wanted. The biggest drawback I found was that it will create piles of gravel and then attempt to dig down. If the thing was balanced better, in order to more easily control the downward pressure, then it would be better. The default position of the handle really isn't optimal. If it was 8 inches forward or so, it would be a much nicer machine to work with.

Looks good but would take a tremendous level of upper body strength. Can they make one with an extra long pole that is immersible up to the top handle for brushing pool walls?

Stanley, I maintain a college level baseball field with real turf. One of our biggest problems is the lip created from the infield dirt washing or draining into the grass edges. In your opinion what would be tough enough to move the dirt back onto the infield from the grass without hurting the grass. Would the paddle or needle attachment work best for this situation using the power broom? Thanks for the review!
@Dirtmonkey8 жыл бұрын
We have used the paddle in this situation. it works great for removing dirt from the grass without tearing it up.

Do these Bristles seem durable? Seems like running them on concrete would wear it out quick, especially if you work in volume. Echo has some cool things coming out. This might be a nice thing to get for cleaning out some mulch beds.

@rayshml65519 жыл бұрын
+Kyles Lawn-Care I've used both versions and I have to say that Echo is MUCH lighter compared to the Stihl. Just the paddle attachment along without the power unit the Echo I can hold straight out with my arm fully extended, the Stihl I can do about 1/2 way out.

RaysHML wich version works better? And is the stihl sweeper soft enough to not damage a garage?
@Pure_KodiakWILD_Power9 жыл бұрын
yep, in alot of their catalogue photos with handhelds like this, echo has guys using straps and/or dual handle wide grips, so they'd probably recommend a strap. i'm surprised they didn't send one with the unit. good demo, though. the power broom would probably do nicely in slush too. hope we get some more snow in pa...

+kodiak wild It rocked wherever I used it.

I can see it being heavy with some attachments, but the broom and paddle rest the machine to the ground, so that should take a lot of the weight.

@milkman84225 жыл бұрын
They have a handle bar versions with a full body strap, not like a normal single strap, this one has 2 staps that are like a vest and your body holds all the weight.
@mikesummers25255 жыл бұрын
Why wouldn't you run it parallel with the garage instead of upside down and having it blow back?
@billcenne72627 жыл бұрын
I would just pull a few inches of snow away from the door, then open the door and "push" the snow the rest of the way. You'll want to wear ski goggles also because these things will throw small rocks and chunks of ice that could put an eye out.

I'm only 14 and 140 lbs but I have a stihl km130r and use it to sweep rock probably up to 6'' high. It is a piece of cake and only weighs about 10 lbs more than a whipper snipper(I also use a strap.). I think echo could convince me to buy one only if they made the paddle flat instead of curved to get more materiel, like the stihl has. The stihl also has quite a bit of power as I can hold it completely still and it can rotate a good 30 degrees when I pull the trigger. However some day I'd like to try out the echo.

@trooperandcooperale30579 жыл бұрын
The weight of the paddle alone is 11.2 pounds converted just over 5 kg, then the motor would be Dry. 8.7 pound = nearly 4 kg. A strap really is the way to go for long periods. But the paddles and the brushes really do all the work. But if you need to do a full on car park. Harness up, double straps or the next day. RIP back and neck. Oh and padded gloves to easy that vibration.
