I have the pt01. Just ordered the STX. Appreciate you doing this comparison video.

Pt01 $130 + $69 Jesse dean fader + $24 tonearm + $20 start stop button mods is money time and frustration, is more price than Stanton but Stanton has start stop but I don't see accessories for stx like rubberbands tonearm etc like pt01 so either or bro as long as stx plays 12" might be better out box experience

The STX doesn't play 12inch records like the PT01 does. It's purpose built for scratching 7 inch records. I have a Jesse Dean tonearm on my STX now. It's great because I have a JICO Shure M447 clone cart, the J44A7 on there and it tracks amazingly. The STX is definitely the better bang for the buck. You can scratch with either hand properly on it, and it has more features.

Does the vinyl audio from the STX filter out the lower frequencies? I wanted to sample 7” & 45s with my STX but noticed that the low end is missing from the line out, headphones, and the external speaker as compared to my other standard turntables or the Bluetooth connection using the same songs.
@GODInTheWax444 Жыл бұрын
There is a ton knob on the STX that probably is causing that. You can turn it one way or the other and it either works as a high pass filter or low pass filter. It sounds like you have it set to high pass moreso. Check that out and see if it doesn't resolve your issue. Good luck...
@DJSupe Жыл бұрын
@@GODInTheWax444 no I checked all the knobs including the tone. Sounds more like a high pass filter cutting off around 100hz. Does yours reproduce full range?
@GODInTheWax444 Жыл бұрын
@@DJSupe Yes it does. Have you tried it with headphones or only the speaker? The STX had QC issues with some of the speakers from what I've seen. Mine had an issue but it resolved itself.

Nice review. I love the STX as well. Been scratching everyday on it for 3 months had a couple minor issues but fixed them. I believe they are making a tone arm for it soon
@GODInTheWax444 Жыл бұрын
I think the Jesse Dean tone arms already work on it. I've seen Jesse Dean videos for their fader that have the tone arm on it already. I'm pretty sure the PT01 arms work on it. It should be a similar connection, sans the phono amp that they let you add on the PT01.

What if I’m able to get the Numark for $100, would you still recommend the Stanton? Saw a spot online called perfect circuit that has the Numark on sale for $99

If you scratch with your right hand on the fader the PT01 Scratch can be fine. If you want to practice with your left on the fader, its not good for that. It has decent features and you can play 12inch records on the PT01. If all that sounds good to you, then by all means go for it!

Great video.. How is the torque compared to the others , i.e., Omni and relooo...who has the best toque, of the portables out there?
@GODInTheWax444 Жыл бұрын
Hey, the STX has decent torque. From what I've heard and seen, the Headache Sounds Omni has the best torque there is. I would like to get that portable soon, but its pretty expensive. and you can't use Paypal or anything like that to buy it...

Buying for a soon to be 7 year old who doesn’t even know what scratching is. Anybody have pointers to an enjoyable out-of-box experience for someone so young?
@GODInTheWax444Ай бұрын
If you're buying the Stanton STX, it's ready to go out of the box. Make sure you pick up some 7inch scratch records on Amazon.com or openformat.la . The crossfader is good enough in that one and it has all the features they'll need to get going. If you get the Numark PT01, you'll need to upgrade the fader for it to be a proper scratch setup. You can Google search Jesse Dean unless I linked it in the description. Jesse makes a great replacement fader for the PT01 that, once you get it and put it in, they'll be ok for a bit. They'll only be able to scratch with their left hand on the platter really, but its fine to learn one side like that until they get accustomed to it. Best of luck with the kid. L8z!
