The fact that this thing "came to life" and was a physical thing is much more impressive than the CGI equivalent. It's much easier to appreciate the tremendous weight.

I love how fast the T-rex's head moves when Tim shuts the Explorer door. Such a big massive head, flying down to face him, and stopping ON A DIME. Terrifyingly real, and a real treat to see again in theaters!

Kicks the crap out of CGI.

ivjdivfjalekvvjp you can say that again, CGI to me looks to Crisp and clean, CGI has some weird effect to it which will never make it look realistic

Seriously SW school - You guys need to find as much of this as you can and cut together a couple films. I definitely appreciate it being able to see this for free - if you put this on discs I will buy them and it would sell like gangbusters. Much respect!

This was before cgi was in full effect when real people designed ,built and made creatures come alive very intelligent group of folks that Stan put together to make movie magic 🎩 hope some day we can do it again Sincerely Grande Gonzalez

Good ol'animatronics the way it should be done. I'm a Cgi I fellow, Enjoy creating 3D models and do appreciate the art in it. However, I've always maintained that, when creating a monster for a movie, or anything for that matter, it should be primarily animatronics and puppetry, keep it as live action as possible. You just get this weight and awe with it that you miss with CG, not to mention it ages well. CG should be used to enhance and help get shots not possible or extremely difficult to get.

You should produce a documentary about the JP films that focuses solely on the animatronic dinosaurs/other special effects handled by your team (and possibly the others).

I dunno about Universal Studios, turtlelover789. Theme park animatronics have to withstand a lot more wear and tear than movie animatronics. But hey, if you like turtles, check out SWSCA instructor Rick Lazzarini's turtle. Just go to his web side at The Character Shop and type budtort dot htm. - David

How come you couldn't make the trex walk? But instead stay on a base
@equarg6 жыл бұрын
Starmation Productions Yea......they can barely make kids toy walk....much less human sized robots walk in 2018. Don't think they could make a walking T-Rex in the early 90's. You have problems with weight, mobility, safety, and lack of technology. What they did for Rexy was AMAZING back then. Still is impressive.

I wish the animatronic Tyrannosaurus Rex that was built for the Jurassic Park ride at Universal Studios in Hollywood, California and Orlando, Florida had been built to look and move exactly just like the more realistic animatronic Tyrannosaurus Rex that was built for the first film. Steven Spielberg, Stan Winston and the people who worked for Stan Winston Studios should've either provided the more realistic animatronic Tyrannosaurus Rex for the ride OR shared a printed concept art sheet and a maquette model of how the Tyrannosaurus Rex had appeared of the first film with the engineers who worked for Universal Studios to have the ride's animatronic Tyrannosaurus Rex built to look and move exactly just like the more realistic animatronic Tyrannosaurus Rex that was built for the first film. media.liveauctiongroup.net/i/5736/8632894_1.jpg media.liveauctiongroup.net/i/5736/8632839_1.jpg media.liveauctiongroup.net/i/5736/8632839_2.jpg media.liveauctiongroup.net/i/5736/8632839_3.jpg media.liveauctiongroup.net/i/5736/8632839_4.jpg
