Tore up the *BOTTOM FISH*! Grouper Head (Catch Clean and Cook)

I had Daniel and his family out for a swordfish trip aboard the Broad Minded. We caught 2 swordfish, one keeper and one release. Mid day we headed inshore a few miles for some deep dropping and caught a little bit of everything! We got some nice blueline tilefish, some big rose porgy, and a nice yellowedge grouper! Back at Bud n' Mary's Marina we fillet the grouper up and the following day Jamaican Mike shows up how to split the head. I take my half back home and season it up and throw it on the grill!

He tells the truth about his cooking. Admitted to drying out some fish the other day. Told us he went a little heavy on the seasoning. An that is important to being authentic. Some channels always tell you how amazing it is. An get lots of friends an family to validate their cooking. When your trying new things it is okay to make a mistake. It's all part of the process

The meat on the backbone is usually my favorite especially to add to a good gumbo. We usually cook all the heads off decent size fish we catch here in the river and add it to gumbo or jambalaya.

Hi Captain Nick, heading to Miami for my daughter's eye cancer checkup again. Appointment is 22nd of July but as I telling you in the past we want to bring our new/old jon boat with us this time. I'm trying to come down to the keys on Monday 19th and fish, snorkel and show the kids how beautiful the keys are when you have a boat. Then head out to Miami on Thursday 19th for their 12:30 appt. Then straight back to Sarasota. Can you recommend anywhere good to stay, nothing fancy or to expensive but on the water for our jon boat. Anywhere as far as Marathon, if to far wont get to come say high to Bud and Mary's family unless closer to Islamorada. I've stopped at your Marina since I was a kid in the 80's to see the daily catches when my parents took my brother's and I to the keys every year to barefoot cove on islamorada, back then. Thank you, videos are better than ever.

Hey Steve The Keys have definitely gone way up in price the last couple decades. We have some rooms and dockage are the marina, but it’s not a resort or anything (no pool, no bar). You may be able to check with Islander resort , La Jolla , or pines and palms too
