He (along with the other good folks Chen Liping, Carole Lin, Zoe Tay, Li Nanxing, Gurmit Singh) will always have my support even though sad to say (sorry if this offends, but I actually don't care if it does lol) I don't watch MediaCorp shows anymore because the younger generation of actors don't have the same sense of tenacity, groundedness, acting skills and vibe as the veterans do, and the sense of entitlement of the younger actors seems to seep out of the TV screen. Its just disgusting. It's like they give off the "oh look at me I'm famous I'm so pretty, so handsome look at me" instead of being in character. In the past even the child actors were actually good at acting! These days, when the young ones act with the veterans in any given show, they spoil the whole show and it's just so off-putting that no matter how much weight the veterans pull into a drama, the younger ones just ruin it for me and I can't continue. If there could be a special ch 8 drama much like the classics Holland V or Price of Peace that only had ALL VETERAN ACTORS IN IT, TAKE MY MONEY. I would literally pay to watch it. Oh well. That's just wishful thinking.

I do think among the younger and developing artists, there are still some with good attitude and acting such as Desmond Tan and Carrie Ng, but I agree with you that nowadays they are all about their image only and don't give in their all in acting. Which is so disappointing because whenever you compare their acting to the veteran's, it made it look like they're just reading off scripts!

don't forget the 福满人间 in the 90s。the young generations acting really sux that I would rather watch korean drama. their actings are so unnatural. I would turn on to watch channel 8 again if they have better actors as talented as them and a better script.

So true! Now it's more of pretty face can already, acting so-so but can still win awards.. Still remember Xie Shao Guang, the top sg actor.. Too bad he left showbiz to leave a quiet life. Now mediacorp drama has bad script, bad actors/actresses. I stopped watching TV because there's nothing much to see. Variety shows also meh.
