Star Citizen - 01. Prospector Mining With Helix Head - Mining Taranite 18 Tons - 3.22

Hi everyone ! We finally started to do our mining runs with Prospector Mining Ship showing you how to use Helix Mining Head the correct way. Most players always ask me how to use it properly, and the answer to that is that you just need to use pure logic which you will see in the video.
I am always using on my Prospector Helix Mining Head as default setup 2 of Focus III Mining Modules.
Also, I am using default Ore Pods (ore bags), but you can put on Argo Moles Ore Pods to increase ore storage from default 32 SCU to 48 SCU !
We are gonna make many of these videos, showing all kinds of types of materials and sizes of rocks which you can break with Prospector and Helix Mining Head.

well explained. Also if you are a serious prospector miner, you can swap out the Prospector cargo bags for Mole cargo bags that will give you prospector 50% more capacity (from 30 CSU to 46 CSU). To do this you need to find a salvageable mole to swap out the bags. Once swapped you need to go to a station, access the ships modules swap a module save changes, swap back save changes and this will lock the mole bags to your ship even if destroyed and reclaimed.

Hey man, really appreciate the time you put into this. I am a noob to star citizen and trying to figure some game loops out - I have tried prospector mining and kind of figured it out, But I dont understand how you are doing the "second break". How do you equip the helix laser when you already have the focus and stampede module? I am assuming that is how you get the second break? Maybe I dont understand something. But when I mine, I dont get to break the second rock?

When you in pilot seat, you hold right ALT and pres K with that you unlock ship ports. That option is alowing you exschange modules on mining head on the spot when you go out from ship, you just need to have modules in your backpack and drop them on the flor. And then with multytool and tractor beam attachemnt on it or with big multytol Maxlif, you exschange them like in video. But for second brakes if you need to brake them, you need to use distance from the rock to even more reduce power on Helix laser . Min power is already on beggingin 20% on that laser, but only way to reduce iot more is going more further from small rock witch you wanna brake.

Mining sucks right now. Mainly because you have to wait 3 days to get profit from a refinery that is 50000% over used.

That does not suck, its normal thing, atleast for now does not mather how much refineries are filed up, waiting time its same, difference is only for waiting time how pure ore you deliver and how much. But you need to look all the from right prospective. If you are broke totaly so you dont have almoust any money on your acc, then yea waiting is problem, in thta case you can instantly sell on small consoles. But if you saving for some ship, where its gonna take you few weeks to grind it out , or even more time, then it does not mather when monney is gonna be on your acc, you already have it but its still in refinery, so you dont need it till that time when you gonna buy ship. Thats the only right way to look at this.

@@risbotheblade2630 the other game play loops offer great rewards per time invested. No one is going to choose mining as a profession if they are trying to save for a ship. The pay off is not enough regardless of the wait.

If you do it every other day or even every day you eventually start a money train coming in. You can truck and mine in the same day after a few days.
