Star Citizen is an Open Development Alpha Project by Cloud Imperium. It is 2 Games really though, the Persistent Universe that aims to build a First Person MMO Space Sim that encompasses gameplay in ship & on ground, economy and pretty much anything else you can think of. It's built in the StarEngine (a modified Lumberyard Engine). You'll see massive Space Ships that you can fly with friends, land on planets, explore or whatever your way to whatever goal you choose. It's available to try in it's current Alpha State now, you can give feedback & influence the direction of the game BUT it is VERY ALPHA.
Squadron 42 is the Single Player Campaign of Star Citizen & the Spiritual Successor of Wing Commander. The Idea is the game is immersive, cinematic, beautiful & seamless... NO LOADING SCREENS once in game.
Both Games are currently in the Alpha of their development.
I am suspecting to see something more mainstream for Star Citizen's PU by the end of 2024 with permanent progression, though it will be a while after that before the game is considered "feature complete" which would be closer to 2025 in my opinion.
The are no dates for Squadron 42's Release Yet BUT it is now Feature Complete.
I am an Independent Content Creator & Star Citizen Fan. I am not paid by Cloud Imperium HOWEVER I am an Evocati Member and as such I am under an NDA for Closed Early Patch Tests of Star Citizen', known as the Evocati Test Flight (ETF). to the people that keep missing the point: the corsair has 3 perfectly functioning turrets, one of which is controlled by the co pilot. In addition to that, the co pilot will also control 2 of the guns that the pilot previously controlled. These guns are NOT turreted and have a small range of motion, the co pilot operates as a mouse clicker for the pilot while controlling the 2 frontal guns. They also can not controll the remote turret at the same time. So they lowered the fun from the pilot, nerfed its dps because you cant fire either the remote turret or 2 of the big guns, and added a job that is by definition anti-fun. If the pilot controlled damage was the issue, lowering gun sizes would have been an easy solution that didnt drastically lower enjoyment of the corsair.

The issue I also have is that the Corsair is supposed to be up gunned compared to the Connie and other choices because of its lack of armor

I came here to say this. People are misunderstanding the problem. It's NOT the overall loss of pilot DPS. It's the fact that two front, gimbaled weapons controlled by a co-pilot are going to be virtual useless ON TOP of the fact that the co-pilot now has to do 3 jobs at once: turret gunner, front gunner AND engineer. I could see lowering gun sizes, but I think that's antithetical to Drake and is a betray of their design philosophy of having big dakka and less defense. The answer to m is just straight up strip the wing guns so the pilot only has 4 size 5's and then upscale the rear turret to a size 3. That gives the Corsair and a two man crew the EXACT same fire power as a Connie Aquila (since everyone cries when I compare it to the Andromeda cuz that's a "gunship") and with extra crew it would have a little more dakka... which again, is the Drake design philosophy. Reducing all the guns to size 4's would also work (and actually be slightly higher DPS) but I just don't like that as a solution. Size 5's pack more of a punch and have better range which is worth more value to a bigger ship like the Corsair that's going to have a harder time staying on target. Also, the wing guns are the first thing to go in a nasty combat, which means after a hit or two a Corsair would have no more pilot controlled firepower than a Cutlass and that's not okay. lol But over all, you are exactly correct. It's not the "on paper" loss of dps, it's the fact that the ship is less fun and asking too much of a single crew member and the fact that at any given time, two of it's gun are completely useless now.

yep, an additional seat for the now extra gun the co pilots have to remote turret into would be an OK bandaid too; so the co-pilot can if needed, add to frontal firepower - but mostly be focused on managing MFD's, shields, maintenance etc - and an additional crew member/gunner can run the remote and focus on that IMO

Personally, I think they need to stop taking away functionality away from solo players like the Corsair until they can supplement it with AI blades and such. Don't say "oh well its no big deal because you can use AI blades" WELL WHERE ARE THEY? Don't take it away until you're ready to drop that tech because I don't usually play with others so now this is taking away when they have nothing to give back.

I think the AI blades or AI NPC will help fill some holes for people in larger ships in the future, as planned. But for now, the multicrew ships are now (and 4.0 in particular) bring pushed into the intended situations that the MMO wants to go for the future.

i think on the flip side if they waited for those things they would have to postpone a bunch of stuff like engineering i think they will need to prioritize them after 4.0 at least blades crew probably needs better server meshing or they wont preform properly

The issue isn’t that they are trying to force multi-crew ships to be crewed. That’s a given. The issue is their ship design. It makes no sense to have a co pilot control the weapons they are taking away. They designed and equipped the Corsair as if it was a big ass fighter. If they made it so that the pilot only had 4 guns they could access from the start, and everything else was a turret (Connie, MSR) it would be fine. They wouldn’t have sold nearly as many Corsairs though. That is where the crux of the issue comes from. They wanted to make money, it was good value, they’ve now screwed over everyone who purchased a Corsair. Which I didn’t, but, I feel for those who did.

What a freaking child the ship is still Over Gunned for what it is an Explorer, nothing about its actual role/function has been touched. Every single ship in the game is a work in progress a stated on the damn ship buying page as well as when you buy a ship during payment, for gods sake grow up. They nerf then buffed the hornet multiple times same with the redeemer same with every ship in the game hell even the Aurora.

@@AlbertoMartinez765 Child? lol. Okay guy. As I stated. My issue is the way they design and package the multi crew ships like the Corsair to begin with. They do that, because they know that it will sell. To hide behind “work in progress” is what’s childish. They need to create some actual multi crew gameplay loop to make a multi crew ship - multi crew. Not just shield sliders, or ambiguous “engineering” gameplay… instead they decided.. let’s remove control of some weapons for a theoretical 2nd person to shoot, and hope they shoot it when you are on target. Sounds fun as hell. The fact is, they don’t even know how to implement multi crew gameplay to even be enjoyable for the said crew. It sounds fun to say, but actual gameplay for it is going to be extremely difficult to implement on any fundamental level. I would like to see multi crew ships be instanced if immobilized during combat. Forcing combatants to start an fps instance on said ship in order to take control and get the loot, giving the ship owners a last chance to defend said loot, or choose to scuttle the ship with a low % chance for the loot, if any, to survive. It’s okay to be critical of the development decisions of the game. Especially when it’s something this ham fisted. But hey, keep simping for silly decisions I guess, that’s easier.

@@AlbertoMartinez765 it's not a nerf, it's a mindless gimmick. The Co pilot controls the top remote turret, who's going to use that now? The pilot? The problem is how they implemented it, just mutilated the ship, not nerfed it. The bottom weapons are not even on a bloody turret!

I think forcing multi-crew changes into ships people have spent hundreds of dollars on to fly themselves, is a questionable choice. If the intent is that you can hire NPC's to fly multi-crew ships, they shouldn't cut out the ability to use those ships solo until that system is in place. Future ships, sure. But current ships? Not a great plan... It's the people who have spent the most real money on the game who will be most negatively affected by it...

I agree with this on the weapons, I think engineering will force the need for crew in the future which was always supposed to come to ships like the Corsair and Connie. You're going to need crew in the future but leave the pew pews alone

@@NotStellarNoja even then, if AI crew is coming, it's a terrible call, financially, to limit solo players from using the more expensive ships if they will eventually be able to. All that would do is piss off people who spent hundreds of dollars on ships they now can't use, and discourage anyone from buying said ships until the mechanics get sorted. I know multiple people who have purchased a Merchantman already, and if it isn't a solo-able ship when it drops, none of them will be able to use it at all. If there's one thing that will drive me out of a game, it's spending money on pre-purchasin something that I then can't use when it drops.

I've worked in publishing for ten years. Press week is basically 5 ten-hour days. Print night often goes until midnight or beyond. You get all the time back (otherwise I obviously would tell them to shove it). It can be quite nice to get a four day weekend break after a busy week.

The problem with the corsair stuff isn't that they are trying to move guns to non pilot crew. It's the lack of logic of how they are doing it. The co pilot currently has double size 2 guns with an (almost) full hemisphere remote turret. The guns they would take away from the pilot are front facing only guns that are around the pilot seat. How on earth is the co pilot supposed to control those guns from the remote turret that sits on the top side of the ship.

Corsair is intended as a 4 crew ship. Think about the millennium falcon... pilot and copilot plus 2 manned turrets. It was a 4 crew ship and around the same size as the corsair.

Not having a good experience with 3.24.2. Lots of server failures (which is understandable), but lots of issues with disappearing ships, enemies not spawning, and quantum frequently not working at all. I understand it's still early, but it's a mess currently.

I really hate the whole, 'it's a multi crew ship' mentality that seems to be happening more and more lately. For a ship like the Polaris or Carrack I get it. But the Corsair isn't a huge ship. Ships in that class should be BETTER if you have a crew, but not critical. Moving the various obvious big buys on the front of the ship away from the pilot is rather dumb, and probably not something that would be done if this was a real ship being built. I play solo almost always. I rarely get time to schedule time to have a crew join me, so it's annoying when they start forcing multi crew.

Agreed. Nobody buys a multi crew ship expecting to be able to fill all the roles on that ship themselves. I never imagined being able to operate all 3 turrets and man the engineering station all on my own whilst also sitting in the pilot seat and for that, I would expect that my ship would be far less effective than it should be. Having each role filled should be a *significant* force multiplier and flying without them should mean that you get the drawbacks of a big ship but without most of the advantages. THAT should be the balancing factor of trying to use a "multicrew" ship solo... and I think it is reasonable for a potential ship owner to make a choice based on what that player - the *pilot* - gets to do. When you buy a Carrack you know that you can only fly it. When you buy a Hammerhead you know you that you can only fly it and fire the missiles. When you buy a Corsair or a Connie you know that you can fire all the fixed weapons and missiles in addition to being the pilot. Designing a ship to be like a Connie, but worse, but with better pilot controlled fire power and then acting all surprised 2 years later that people are taking advantage of that tells me that CIG really shouldn't be selling ships with different power levels because they don't seem to be prepared for the end result: that some ships will stand out. They should just get it over with and make all ships of a certain size identical. Same components, same speed, same weapons, just a different model. 😂

Speaking of the Corsair, if they wanted to turn the 2 chin guns into a turret, that would be one thing, but the guns still function as if they're pilot weapons, making them very awkward to use. Not only that, but they're giving them to a role that already has a turret to control on top of things like missiles and power management, the latter of which is about to get a lot busier with the resource network. It just feels like the decision was made and implemented without anyone trying it out, let alone even thinking about the experience. And to top it all off, based on things they've said in the past, this is only going to be temporary for an indefinite amount of time, which begs the question of why they're bothering to make the current experience worse if it's not going to achieve anything in the long term.

The issue with Corsair change is those guns are specifically only really useful to the pilot as he's in control of where they point, the co-pilot has control of a remote turret so can either help man the pilots guns now or control the turret but not both. So while the guns remain it is technically a nerf even if you run multicrew.

Instead of taking weapon control away, give us a REASON to have more people. The Reliant used to give control of the turrets to the copilot when one was present, but all weapons reverted to the pilot when there wasn't. No one ever flew this way because it was not a fun experience. However, with the changes to weapons and gimbals lately, I can see having a dedicated gunner on a larger ship like the Corsair could be an advantage. But only if the pilot has the option to turn over weapons. Forcing it feels bad. Let us solo fly these ships like before, but make gunner gameplay actually worth while and we will get additional crew.

The problem with the Corsair with this update is the ship now has 5 positions but only 4 crew. The co-pilot maning both fixed guns and a turret is daft as by the time they've switched guns the target would of moved so they'd have to switch guns again , rinse and repeat. If they need to keep switching then you'll actually be down the forward guns and turret. I think this is an afterthought and not "working as intended" as they claim. It feels like this rework is artificially pushing multicrew on to the Corsair in a position that it cant possible work.

My 2 cents on the Corsair, I would have rather they hoped the size of the remote turrets guns and also given the co pilot actual access to ship systems. Even reduce the size of the main guns. But splitting the cannons like that means that the co pilot has to choose either the 2 footwear guns and limited middle arc or the remote turret and a wide middle arc. And still not be able to take on any flight burdens like resource management. Also, I think that's a variation of the C. O. Nomad

So the main issue with the corsair is the main aelling point was the firepower the pilot has. It flys like a brick and has less hp then the connie which 4 size 4s and now a size 3 turret, as well as is more manuverable with a smaller profile. Forcing multicrew of those size 5s to just be a button monkey while you make the remote turret completely useless as well.

The Connie also has 4 size 5 pilot guns now. More Shields. More Maneuverable. More HP. More missiles. It's not even a competition now. The Connie costs less and is massively more effective at almost everything.

The main selling point for all ships gets bait and switched for everyone. This can't possibly be your first time? CIG is absolutely the worst at including marketing that says hey you're going to buy this wonderful amazing thing and then give me you a piece of garbage in the end. Not to mention the Connie will be reworked on the interior quite a bit and likely receive numerical changes at the same time. Remember the game is in constant severe flux. The Corsair has fallen out of the common man's grace just as quickly as it can be brought back in.

What we don't understand is why they haphazardly made the copilot a button pusher for a weapon system with a 15° arc of fire in a way that also makes the top turret redundant. I did not own a Corsair but I do not like the direction that multicrew is going with this change. towards forcing simples tasks to take two people when it makes sense for it to be done by a single person just for balance reasons. Surely there was a better way to do this? I have my theory as to who is driving the need to suddenly nerf the ship long before the systems to balance it are even in place. Synonym for Bazaar. Ends in ing. I will not be surprised to see a direct competitor in the DPS category being sold this November.

Good little bit on the CIG crunch stuff. I haven't working in the industry, but from what I have heard and what I have had in my work life this is just fine. My work does plenty of OT when things get hectic and you will get paid for your time, but depending on your role it can be mandated and not get any time back for the required OT. No one blinks in any other industry, but with Crunch in video games being a thing any OT sniffed out is being labeled as such to clickbait.

The corsair problem is that they want to take 2 of the guns and put it to the co, pilot, but the co-pilot already has control of the top turret., so what they should do is just downgrade the gun size for the pilot.

The problem with the Corsair is two fold, one, you can’t use the remote turret anymore, and two, all the copilot does is press mouse 1 when the pip is aligned. No aiming, just sitting there and tapping mouse 1

As someone who has been playing for about 2 or 3 years, it really feels like CIG is accelerating their game development. I think they are close to something big and their hope is to reveal it at CitCon as a finished product, rather than a promise of "Soon (TM)". So asking their teams to work 2-4 extra days leading up to their Con does not seem unreasonable. The articles I read about this are just like 99% of the rest of internet news these days: Catchy headlines to grab clicks but have no meaningful content. I am actually proud of CIG for delivering many of the features they highlighted at CitCon23. They wanted all their new ships in game within 12 months and they are oh-so-close to that target. As I said, I have only been around for the last few years so I don't have the history of let-downs that long-term backers have had. But kudos to them for what they have accomplished so far, especially recently, and personally, I cannot wait to see what they do this year.

Honestly, taking guns away from the pilot is a bit rough, maybe upgrading turret guns for others on the ship and downsizing pilot guns would be less of a harsh penalty. Ideally, not changing the forward facing guns is best plan

One of my favorite things lately is the CQB Sniper. Take a P6-LR, put a 3X or a 4X optic on it. Then do bunkers or distro centers. Lots of fun.

I agree with Zin, I was in publishing for 20 years in the UK. And every book expo we were asked to work weekends plus we were hanging out with clients after the expo. This happened a few times a year and we had to travel to different countries.

The problem with the Corsair (don't own one) is they are the front fixed guns. Not turret swivel based so splitting whom firing weapons seems relatively odd cause of whom is controlling it direction of flight. Kinda silly.

Again, I don’t mind the pilots of multi crew ships not having many (or any) weapons. My disagreement with this change isn’t that it makes the ship harder to run solo, it’s that the way they are doing it doesn’t add any meaningful gameplay. The copilot already has a remote turret, so the two fixed guns will almost never be used (it would be much more advantageous for the copilot to be using the turret in almost every scenario). They might as well have just removed those guns if that were their plan. As well as, like you said, the addition of engineering is going to make it much more multicrew focused. The Corsair only has enough crew already to crew the turrets, so with Engineering someone will have to leave a turret empty already to do engineering work.

the problem with demanding that any ship larger than an Avenger needs multi crew, is that everyone knows a lot of people dont have hours to get together a team of people they dont know. they need some larger ships that can be solo'd. As long as its just guns i lose, if ships like the corsair just become unusable solo that would be a shame.

I love you guys, but as a salty corsair owner I gotta correct you. They HAVE technically nerfed the ship, because they gave the co pilot control of the forward facing guns, who also has the remote turret to run. So your co pilot has to switch depending on the situation, lowering the total dps of the corsair. Just take the damn guns away then or size everything down, just makes things too complicated for the co pilot

The Corsair change is just ridiculous. The copilot already has a remote turret. The fixed guns can ONLY be aimed by the pilot. Hands up who wants to sit in the co pilot seat & press fire when I get on target? Fun & engaging 😂😂 If it needs a nerf reduce the gun size. This is not the answer to multi crew.

The Co pilot controlled nose guns on the corsair are gimballed. That doesnt make the nerf sting any less but its not like he has to sit there waiting for the pilot to perfectly line up the shot, and call 'Fire'.. the copilot will hit a target in front of the ship more often than the pilot because the guns can gimbal 3x faster than the ship can steer to track targets.

The constellation has two extra seats on its bridge that are good for nothing right now, it has also 4 large guns and missiles. You get what I am driving at? A more democratic distribution of firepower split among three people. It makes sense!

That's what the turrets are for. The connie has a max crew of 4. A pilot, top gunner, bottom gunner, and engineer. Those 3 seats up front aren't for combat.

My issue with the corsair change is that these are fixed guns, meaning if your not the pilot moving the ship theyre next to useless. Also moving them to the co-pilot blocks their use of the remote turret. It would be better to either downgrade them or remove them, then up-gun the co-pilots turret.

I had a roommate who worked for a major gaming company to release a major title. Up to the game being finished he was working 18 hour days. This is literally standard practice, you only hear about it because SC has a more open development. I'm not saying this is a healthy or good thing to do. But there is no way in hell you can only point a finger at CIG for this. EVERY studio is guilty of this.

Yeah you're right, I do think we all already know this is common practice. The reason they say it like this is because when even CIG starts doing this, you know something's off. Especially with CIG and their way of delaying stuff when it's not ready. On the other hand, I wouldn't be surprised if it was like this last year also. I just haven't kept track of it that intensely cuz that'll burn you out sooner or later.

It wouldn't be so bad if the guns they moved to the corsair co-pilot were turreted...but they aren't...they're fixed guns. That's the biggest problem I see with it. They've just done it in such a weird way that makes no sense.

@@wolfmirebacta8710 common is nebulous and unhelpful, obviously crunch is best done in phases with breaks in between, but how long those phases are and how much breaktime is going to depend on what the employer needs and what the employee is looking for, believe it or not some people love overtime pay and will work pretty much every hour you'll let them I'm just so tured of the "concern" over crunch as the underlying assumption is that people on the internet have a better understanding of what a good or bad employee contract is than the employee or the employer

What a time to be doing a Corsair giveaway. Honestly, I get that they wanted to drop the pilot damage on it, but turning the co-pilot into a dedicated button presser feels like a bad way of going about it. Like sure, those guns are gimballed, so there's some independent targeting on the part of the co-pilot but it just feels like a really weird change.

The corsair guns that the pilot is losing were designed as pilot weapons. There's no way they have enough range of movement to make a copilot having control worth anything. And that's ignoring the conflict with piloting the remote turret too.

Every accountant, and data analyst I've worked with gets monthly crunch time, Monthly, then again again annually. Teachers work alot of evenings marking schoolwork not to mention they too get their relevant crunch time. Difference between them and Cig team, it's thankless and generally don't get given breakfasts and lunch

I work in IT as a consultant, I get crunch time on the regular, and im salary so i dont get extra pay. But it comes with the job and gets balanced out when i got nothing going on and can watch youtube all day...

EVERY job probably has some kind of "crunch". There can always be a special event/project/deadline that the company doesn't want to miss. It really shows the colours of the people criticizing this.

Those people are also not subject to their crunchtime TOIL being arbitrarily revoked by management simply by firing them before a deadline. The wording said that the TOIL could not be taken until Sq42 is released, and that if the employee is dismissed before then, they will not get their TOIL.

I do wish NPC's for your ship were added before the big move to multicrew. I did some hauling missions with the C2 and right now it makes no sense to do multicrew. I made like 40k in 2 hours. Sure that's faster if I add some people, but making 10k an hour after splitting isn't exactly incentivizing multicrew. Makes the current hauling missions feel weird to me.

I bought the corsair for the looks, also I prefer to play solo and quite bad at combat (nor do I have time to play enough to get better at it, I log in for couple hours a month at very best). So it was at least levelling me with npc and some players.

I don't like the changes to the corsair. For the record I do not own one. Taking away the guns from the pilot forces the co-pilot to either control those 2 guns, or the remote turret, which means even with a crew you are still short 2 potential guns. A better option would if they felt it was too powerful would have been to change the guns from size 5 to 4.

I own a Corsair, and honestly removing only 2 guns isn't TOO big of a deal. The only reason it got nerfed is because it's the highest FPS-dealing solo pilot ship in the game.

I feel option 2 should be take those bottom 2 size 5s, and make the top turret a bit bigger to support those s5 guns, buffing up the remote turret, and making it so the copilot doesn't have to choose between two big guns with a fairly narrow gimbal, and two small guns that aren't honestly that useful despite a useful turret placement. Option 3 could even be to make those guns s4 and then mount them on the turret, as S4 is supposed to be the largest "effective against fighters" size.

It’s 4 matched guns pointing in the same direction, makes no sense to have a copilot fire when the pilot fires, particularly as at least the pilot knows where he is manoeuvring to. Should have simply reduced the size of the guns.

They have definitely nerfed the ship. The best of the turrets in the co-pilots remote turret. So we loose that spot in favour of the guns we already have. Now the copilot is power management, chaff/flare 2 main guns and the remote turret

I get that the Corsair is a multicrew ship, but it was already OK with it's 3 turrets. The other thing is I dont get how it's gonna be fun for the copilot using those guns while having no control of the ship

From Guns of Icarus to Star Wars Galaxies Jump to Lightspeed, it's been my experience multi-crewed ships simply don't have the appeal we wished they did. Everyone wants to be the pilot/gunner. No one wants to be the guy running around with a fire extinguisher. I know there are always exceptions, but I think we're going to get a rude awakening once multicrew becomes more of a necessity.

The corsair change isn't about less firepower for the pilot (for most people), it's about the ship's design not (sensibly) supporting this change. The guns are FIXED, if they had 180 degree gimbals it wouldn't be so bad. There is also the issue that the co-pilot also controls the rear turret. If they really needed to nerf the Corsair, they should have reduced the gun size or just removed those guns completely. I don't have this ship, so don't really care if it gets nerfed, but I am very concerned about the idiotic gameplay decision. It doesn't bode well for the future of Star Citizen.

The problem with the Corsair is marketing: People pledge for a Corsair, but the small print says "you're just giving us money and a spaceship is incidentally and unconnectedly going to fall into your hangar." So you can't use the Consumer Rights Act because the contract doesn't explicitly mention purchasing a ship. Your ship isn't yours. It's at CIGs mercy to modify as they see fit. Take the 315p: Marketed with a size 3 tractor beam on the front and I'm stuck with a size 2. Sucks, but CIG's marketing has outwitted me once more. Balls. And if you don't like it... melt it and try a ship that doesn't look like a mouldy shoebox with comically sized Doritos stuck to it.

No, no, no. CIG won't sell hover trolleys. They'll resell different ship packages that come with hover trolleys. Or a "cargo mover" package that has the ATLS and trolley together. Removing the guns from the pilot of the corsair currently hamstrings the entire ship, even if it is fully crewed, when engineering comes into play. "Captain, ships on fire, multiple areas." - "You go put those out. I'll defend us by... listing slowly and lazily to the left."

Increase turret sizes, reduce pilot weaponry, its a simple multi crew solution. With Ben-Gineering youll see even more multi crew customization. Now one of your 2 turret operators will be managing your ship systems on smaller ships.

I'm all for them making multi-crew ships require a multi-crew! But I want that AI crew in the game and functioning ASAP! It's not that I intend to be antisocial, but logistics will factor into my play time... and assembling a team may not. So, let's go, CIG!!! 😬👍 Also... crunch time isn't solely a negative thing. At my job, we have a season. We're in it now, in fact. And those shift hours are long, the chances for stuff going wrong is cranked up to 11 and it can be tiring. But the pay is very fair and the support we get is too. Sometimes the big grind is the nature of a job. Gotta put those grown-up pants on n' gut it out... or go get a job where that's not needed. I like the Corsair as a multi-role ship and currently own one in-game. I'm not fussed about it being nerfed since I didn't buy one with real money, however, anyone who did deserves some sympathy. Things won't stay the same, that's a given, but if CIG sells a particular concept ship it does feel a bit rich for them to then nerf that concept. As long as CIG keeps making changes like this (and they WILL keep doing this) it's buyer beware. A single player ship that we DO need though, is a proper "space-truck/lorry" hauler. Maybe something half the size of the Caterpillar, certainly bigger than the Freelancer Max. That's viable single player gameplay and should therefore have a viable single player ship.

I work 84 hours a week sometimes I don’t want to hear people complaining about work. Be happy you have a job but if you’re not happy where you are go work somewhere else. Yes it’s hard to change jobs and even careers but it’s worth it.

I love how crunch/overtime/hussle culture has been normalized based on the responses here and Zin and bored’s discussion. Zin’s “I do it, so boohoo for them…” (paraphrasing), or Bored’s “… not even that bad”. Let’s not demonize people for wanting a healthy work life balance because you are use to being taken advantage of due to poor project management from superiors. Remember these companies will grind you into an early grave, if you let them, and get the next fresh pair of legs on the pitch to keep the money flowing. There is no reason to force 3 users to 3 turrets that could be assigned to one person controlling the turrets where turret fire converges to their tastes. The reclaimer had this once and it was outstanding. And that is all the point that needs to be made. CIG is losing track of practicality. In most games, say, a .50 Cal produces .50 Cal damage. In this game, a .50 Cal produces 9mm damage on overly long barrel with 6 times the heat output and ammo requirements because it might actually hit something. This is the product of the minds that believe in gun free zones.

I understand not wanting to work 7 days, but I also would love to have a group of people working for me that had the passion I did about something. Steve Jobs surrounded himself with people that had as much passion as he did so that when it came down to crunch time they wanted to keep working. They pushed themselves because they wanted to see it done as much as he did. I would only hire people that loved the project and had as much passion about it as I did if I were Chris. I'm sure that's getting more difficult, but what an incredible game it would make. Especially after you told the marketing department they weren't going to have any decisions over in-game prices ever again.

What? They DID lose guns on the Corsair. The co-pilot can now either use the nose guns OR the turret. Not both. DPS was lost. They have also made the co-pilot just a button pusher. The pilot lines up a shot an the co-pilot pushes a single button. How does that encourage multi crew???? Who wants to spend their gaming session pushing only pushing a single button and combat??? They moved nose guns right next to the pilot guns to the co-pilot. What in-game reason would you not be able to fire the guns from the pilot seat??? Nerfing ships is not an “incentive” people to multi-crew. How about they give benefits and positives. But the Connie’s get 4 S5 guns pilot controlled, way more missiles, more maneuverability, 180k HP!, size 3 turrets now, more cargo SCU, and a snub fighter! This is not balance. They are terrible nerfs. Ripping off backers that paid money only to have their assets devalued compared to other ships. They won’t make rye Corsair cheaper than the Connie will they?
