Oh... Youre back! Can't wait to see 3.22 vs 3.23 comparisons!!!

Those clouds did some heavy lifting for the feel at arccorp!

Very nice. If they could get rid of the sparkling on medium & high then they'd be entirely viable options. Thanks for the video 👍

the irony of forgetting about the LOD's given the sticky note easter egg in game since forever is so upsetting

Just use high or very high and DLSS. It looks better than native photo mode.
@Heshinsi8 ай бұрын
@@hiphopgrinch Plus there is no real difference in performance hit. DLSS is a game changer, and once they get Vulkan properly running with multi-thread support, we will get substantial CPU performance gains as well.

Odd thing is I don't have that problem on high any more in 3.23 guess it must be a hardware issue.
@FrazzleCat8 ай бұрын
@@rooster1012 ah maybe they've fixed this shimmer issue. Patches were rolling in pretty steady so that's quite possible. I patched out of 3.23 back to Live some days ago, myself.

Who the hell is this why am subscribed to this? Oh right this guy hell yeah. Good to have you back. Excellent job showing off the differences between the settings I hope my computer can handle the photo mode.

Nice comparison, thanks. Ideally you want it with DLSS off though, DLSS upscaling meaning it can never look as good as it does with the setting off.
@minecraftprovie8 ай бұрын
DLSS can look sometimes better than native. In some situations. Especially when upscaling to 4K or 1440p
@redrosecounty8 ай бұрын
@@minecraftprovie Never seen or heard of that personally. Upscaling algorithms can look pretty damn good but I've not seen one look as good as the native resolution it is upscaling to. That being said I am far from an expert so it's not impossible. I'd like to do some of my own comparisons but DLSS in SC simply isn't working for many of us, at least not in the Vulkan API. same performance as having upscaling off and looks the same as well.
@minecraftprovie8 ай бұрын
@@redrosecounty in SC gpus aren't utalized 100% for most people. so yes. in SC it's not that usefull currently. but for other games it can look better because DLAA is better than other anti aliasing methods. That's why in some games DLSS looks better than native. (not frame gen ofc)

Bit of a pity that only Very High has the flickering-at-horizon fix. Hope its preformant enough.

Yes, it looks like high are medium clouds but with light shaft.

I put on CIG:s upscaling to "performance" and cranked the clouds to "photo mode" and it worked great! Perfectly smooth at 90 FPS on Arccorp with pretty medium-spec PC: RX 6700XT + Ryzen 5 3600

Fortunately, I have a beefy enough rig to run it on very high, but I didn't know there was a photo mode.

Very little or no difference between photorealism mode and very high...only that if you dont own a alien pc with 4090 and 14900k or r9 7950x3d with 32gb ddr 4 or 5 your fps will be like 5 or max of 10 on photo mode rather than 40 50+ on very high...so better we leave the clouds on very high and the rest at maximum ultra and with everything at ultra and the clouds on very high we have maximum quality maximum comfort and maximum performance

I've seen BETTER clouds in SecondLife. Hopefully they moved the cloud banks or at least give them the ability to move. I get tired of flying thru the same clouds every time I land at New Babbage space port. It really breaks the immersion. Also, want to know where the cool stuff is when your out planet side and can't find your navigation point, just look for a damn blizzard. How UNORIGINAL...
@redrosecounty8 ай бұрын
Baby steps, they've finally got the Vulkan API work done and moved the bulk ot the development team back to Star Citizen from SQ42. Should start to see regular improvements on this stuff. Personally I'm stoked for dynamic weather and rain. Been waiting a long time for it. Also games like Second life, Red Dead Redemption and whatever else you can find better clouds in have it easy, they can fake it. Substantially more difficult to do it across entire planets in a universe you can seemlessely travel across, has to be properly simulated.
@Alkyps8 ай бұрын
so they added BETTER CLOUDS just for rich people.. alright. cheers CIG, you still shit
@redrosecounty8 ай бұрын
Wouldn't say Rich people, anyone with a 20xx series nvidia card should be able to run it just fine. 20 series and up support DLSS which will give large performance gains and enable people to run clouds at higher settings with decent framerates. 20 series is not expensive, 6 year old cards now.
@elise34558 ай бұрын
Just turn on upscaling and even medium-spec PCs can run it smoothly with clouds at "photo mode".
