Just a note - I work on electronic warfare planes in real life and those wire harnesses dwarf those of present day. I know it's the future, but there are a LOT of signals traveling around on different data buses.

Supposedly if there are more options for you to select from with the 'Use' button, you press and hold the button and it will bring up a split menu for you to choose from. I am not sure however when that will be introduced in the hanger.

I think this ship (which I bought) will be a great personal transport too, or to quickly get one person from A to B. No Cargo really, but with the weapon racks, and bed, would be a perfect personal transport as well. I was not a big fan of Drake ships before, but lately, with this ship, the Caterpillar, and the new Bad ass looking Cutlass.... Yeah, I"m sold on Drake! I probably won't be a pirate, but such beautiful ships!

I too find it odd they never updated the images for the Herald on the website. As for the use button issues I totally agree, but it'll eventually all be gone with item 2.0. I believe the actual button to close the door is the big red one on the opposite side. Personally I'm planning on using my Herald for exploration. It's capabilities lend themselves to making new discoveries and perhaps a spot of search and rescue.

I don't have a Herald, but I have CCUs to it... so if something below (like the Reliants) gets more expensive, I might save some bucks. Not like the Herald isn't entirely worth it's price, I just think the less I spend on one Ship, the more I have for another one. One thing I like on the Herald is, that it's a specialized Ship, but still more than that. It's a Ship that doesn't say "I run data and that's it", racing aside, you can just use it to go places like you'd use a Aurora and one thing I think is worth mentioning: It has 3 S2 Gimballed Guns (CF-117, which are quite good Energy Weapons) and excellent view, so you could actually provide close air support to ground Units, and since it does have a interior, you might even be able to drop people off. It even has 16 (?) S1 Missiles, so if the ... hits the fan, you can just spam missiles and GTFO. I also have to say, the level of detail on this Ship is just stunning... actually, it's not just how well it's done, but how realistic it's done. If you take off the door-cover of your car, it's most likely gonna look like the interior of the Herald and some parts of the engine look like the Turbo installations used on Drag Racers. The only things I really hate tough: 1. I think the Herald should be a tiny bit wider around the area where the Chair is, going past it feels kinda weird. 2. It's absolutely embarassing how CIG (or Turbulence, I don't know who's the Bottleneck there) just don't give a damn about the Statpages. For the love of god, it's what people usually base their descisions on... so, if possible, could you add the stats as notions on the Video? For example, I know it now has 3x CF-117 gimballed, and one engine is S4 instead of 2x S3, but I don't know about the Powerplant / Shield for sure. The original S2 (S3 Max, tough) Powerplant seems a bit small for those Thrusters and Weapons IMO.

I love this ship. I think it's one of the very best CIG ship designs - it looks like a big bug to me, which is appropriate (bug = sucking insect, as it'll be sucking up information!) This will be one of my faves in the 'verse...

I got one cause apart from what you said and doing one-off jobs to make a quick buck it would be a great companion to run data from my Carrack instead of trusting such valuable data through the spectrum and it's firepower is nothing to sneeze at either, 3X S3 mounts and 18 S1 missiles for ECM will be more than enough to dissuade people from getting too close

With what little info is out on the info side of the game, Im hoping to use this thing for corporate espionage. Listen in to one co. plans and sell it to a competitor. The white market description of the Herald in its brochure makes me think it can be used for stealing info as much as it can be for legitimately gained info.

I t looks great. make a great passive scout for a fleet before the whole fleet jumps. It can jump in listen and then jump back with a report before anything knows it's there.

I bought this ship and can't wait to fly it. Looks awesome. We'll see what one can really use it for once the SC is more feature complete. Maybe stealing data? And selling it back to the owner ;-) Maybe locating hidden bases before infiltrating it using a stealth ship? Can't wait.

those wings work like missile fins, many missiles have small fins, usually not meant to be able to glide, but to make sure not to lean left or right when forward thrusting, nothing aerodynamic, but if you propel something that just shaped as a stick, it can rotate and even lean if all it has is forward propulsion, they are not wings, there fins. though i can see the dodo bird compairison

The Herald has 1xS2 Gimbal under the front and 2xS1 on the wings... is it possible to convert them into 1xS3 fixed and 2xS2 fixed? Could be interesting :)
