Star Citizen - Money well spent?

We purchased a Brand new ship and it was an adventure!

One of the best things to ever happen to me in SC was reserving a RSI Galaxy and getting the Carrack as a loaner. A few days was all it took for me to accept that, despite the years of desirig it, I had zero real use for it. 600i seems as big as i'll go for the forseeable future, but good luck, bon voyage and all good tidings. I really enjoyed watching this - thank you.

I love the Carrack and it is going to be even better once exploration becomes a real thing in SC. I love the way it's layed out on the interior. But I wish it had more curb appeal on the exterior.

I would have suggested getting the C2 as that is a nice heavy boy as well but has strong forward guns for Bounty. Plus it can also do trading and carry tanks, and other ships as well. The Carrack is a fun multi-crew ship, for the pilot, has no access to the guns.

The Carrack is, in my opinion, the best laid out ship of the lot of ships. They seriously put a lot of thought into it. If it makes someone happy, it's all good. Down the road they'll figure out how to best utilize it for their specific needs.

FYI, if you get the 890 jump, you can fit your Titan in its hangar as it's snub, lol. All these huge ships become mobile bases, just remember where you park them😅

I had just enough money to buy the Carrack... Got the Reclaimer for 15 million instead. In less than 6 days doing salvage missions with the Reclaimer now have enough money to buy an 890 Jump.

My biggest complaint with the Carrack is that it only has 1 entrance currently. Other than that, it's great for flying around racing snubs and being a mobile hospital/garage for running bunkers.

o7 welcome to your new home. Carrack is love 😁 If you need to eat and drink, just lie down in the Med Bed. On the upper bridge, you can sit in the right-hand seat to operate the upper turret. Then you don't always have to run through the whole ship to operate a turret.

I have the Carrack Pledge pack. I love the carrack and Im a solo player. Nobody bother me while doing cargo because the cargo is a pain to loot :) I melted the Terrapin with a mole and now have lifetime insurance on that as well.

The only negativ thing about this ship is that the pilot has no ship weapons. But it is one of my favorits. I mostly fly the Constellation Andromeda. People are split about that ship but i think its awesome.

Yea I got attacked buy some guy in a Hercules and I had to set the cruise Control and sprint down a hallway to a turret! Haha he blew me up! Haha! I need a small fighter in the hanger.

It's a fantastic ship. It has quite a few negatives right now. Can't realistically move cargo into the cargo pods except via trade terminal. Getting loot from a bounty mission is a no go. Also, he'll find out the spawn bed has a very negative downside to it. If the Carrack is destroyed, instead of regenerating at a nearby station where he's a quick hop from being in a ship... back to the home planet he goes. This is why even doing org stuff where a Carrack is available, I rarely set my regen there.

I bought one earlier last year. Hardly ever use it. Not a good single player ship. Pilot has no weapon systems. Also, I find it very creepy inside 😂. BTW there is a secret compartment in the wall, left side of the medical bed. The ship needs a rework.

Yep still fits in the hangars and even the hangars at the stations. The bigger ships, the 890 Jump and Reclaimer, can't hangar at stations (except Grim Hex hangar 13). 890J has to use a docking port at stations which is still a bit buggy. Reclaimer doesn't have a compatible docking port for the stations, so it can only be stored at a city spaceport or Grim Hex. Hull C also uses a docking port because of its external cargo design. The Hammerhead also docks since it was designed for that in mind, but it's about the same size footprint as a Carrack. As you've probably realized, there are some serious downsides to soloing in a Carrack. But a damn cool ship. Welcome to the Verse. o7

I like it, but there's nothing to DO with it. You can't fight in it without a crew, can't salvage... I suppose you could haul cargo, but there are cheaper ships that do that better.

Just a note for anyone that's unaware/confused: the "$26M" in the thumbnail is really meant to say "¤26M" as the in-game economy doesn't use dollars but a fictional currency called UEC (¤1,000 = $1)

The Carrack comes with a snub ship, the Anvil Pisces. But it isn't loaded in the hangar by default. It also comes with a rover. The RSI Ursa. It is also not loaded in it's hangar by default. But I have no idea if you get them when you purchase the Carrack in game. Also, there are two locations to fly the ship from. There is the technical deck where you were, and the cockpit. the cockpit is located on the habitation deck one deck below the technical deck.

Buying in game doesn't come with any extras. But he has plenty of funds for both :D Also good to load up a couple of Furys in there, the flying turret. Can fit something like 3 in the hangar and another 3 or 4 in the garage. Better than turrets any day.

@@DIGITALSANDBOX If you want to bed logout, go into quantum travel to a marker that's not on a planet/moon or its orbit, and cancel the QT by pressing 'b'. That'll be a safe place to do a bed logout. Lay down on one of the beds, hold 'F' and look around to the side of the bed to find the logout option. When you return, you're back in your ship. A regular game exit will always put you at the last station/city you landed at. The latter certainly has its benefits, such as being stranded or stuck somewhere, you can go to menus and return at the station with your gear.

I’d get a TS-2 Q drive otherwise quantum travel is slow. Your speed limiter was low taking off I only use it approaching space stations because the Carrack doesn’t slow down as easily as other ships.

That is my favorite ship so have fun with it, and it can hold 2 ursas in the garage or a tightly fitted Kruger p-52 Merlin with an ursa next to it and you can fit a pices spacecraft in it but that is as big as it can fit ( kinda smol )

You do need a good CPU and a decent GPU as well as 32 GB of RAM, but outside the cities and stations which are locked to 30 FPS you can consistently get over 60 FPS nowadays. A friend of mine has a 3090 and was able to get about 100 FPS just outside the armistice zone of space stations.

@@Turtleswan Once you have a ton of aUEC, piles of loot and in-game ships, a wipe is often fairly welcomed. It's nice to start from little again and do some vanilla stuff for a bit. It's the only real progression system the game has at the moment until base building, resource gathering, complex crafting and a faction rep system.

@@DIGITALSANDBOX There are a bunch of players who consistently want CIG to wipe every patch. I personally find them incredibly obnoxious. Thankfully CIG has no desire to wipe unless there's a good reason to do so, like tech that requires the database to get cleaned up, or a bug that causes database issues. They changed the database in 3.16 or 3.17 or something like that though and had to wipe when item persistence was implemented in 3.18 and I believe again in 3.19 due to an issue with the database, but we haven't had a wipe since then. We might have to endure another wipe later this year due to server tech being advanced, but it's not certain yet.

@@DIGITALSANDBOX pls pls pls get the vulture first. if you want to earn thats a far far better way. prospector will require to find rocks, break them, scoop them, refine them, get a cargo ship and sell them. Vulture and salvage is get a contract to salvage a ship, to to the point marked for you, break it up, load boxes, sell done.
