The Aegis Vulcan in Star Citizen, This will be a welcome addition to the verse. Moderate size yet packing some very cool features, 4 Bard drones, external fuel tank for ship to ship refueling , 12Scu for Re - supply. Overall this ship will offer a unique career in the verse. But what do you guys think about the Aegis Vulcan? As always let me know down below!!

Refuel. Repair. Rearm. Become a one-person support crew with Aegis Dynamics’ versatile Vulcan, supplying aid to pilots on the fly. Whether pinned down under heavy fire and in need of ammunition, low on fuel after an ill-planned cargo run, or stranded in unknown space with a busted thruster, a pilot in distress can always count on a Vulcan and its cadre of drones to lend speedy, efficient assistance.

This was great! Been waiting for this video. I was wondering if they could fit in a crew elevator near the cockpit? Also, it would be nice if they could add a sealed airlock over the cargo lift at the back, maybe at the crew quarters side of things, so you don't depressurize the ship.

The drone question applies to the RSI Apollo as well, or at least to a certain degree. It has those brancard drones for the pick-up of patients. I think it needs to be capable of refueling hydrogen and quantanium. Without the last part, you don't really get ships going. No quantum, no going home. For repair it would need to work together with a Vulture or Reclaimer to refill itself in space. The other question is how ammo is being carried. What it also would need, I think, is something with beacons. You don't want this ship in the front line. So if ships can fall back, do a little quantum to safety, that would be helpful. Right now the Vulcan also competes with space stations and landing pads. And of course, it needs NPC (PVE) missions. Were it more for players-only, it would be highly situational and not worth it.

@jedi_drifter2988 Жыл бұрын
I've always liked the Vulcan, but not for its built purpose. I always think outside the box and what if you were to convert the Vulcan into an Exploration ship ? You would have plenty of fuel. The ship is heavy duty with armored blast covers for the cockpit. The drones can repair and fetch things of interest, especially in harsh environments that a human can't survive. It is soloable, but has all the crew accommodations needed for long range travel. There is only one major drawback and that is cargo size, 12 SCU is pitiful even for it's intended roll. I believe you will be able to customize your avionics/radar, just like everything else in the ships components to a more exploratory level. IMO would compete with a Freelancer DUR, but better, if the cargo size is increased. That's the only reason I haven't pledged 4 1 yet, waiting to see if it will increase, until I pull the trigger.

This is a ship i think they should bloat up just a little like they did the carrack just to boost that cargo capacity up a little
@robertschumacher2707 Жыл бұрын
The Vulcan was very well designed especially when considered who it was designed for. It was designed to support a squadron of fighters in a large battle, meaning every ship it supports will be using the same components and ammunition, where Vulcans repairing ships commercially will have to either carry generic spares hope they have the right parts or stay at a station and hope they'll be able to buy the needed parts there before heading out to assist.
@TheRealMiniIsHere Жыл бұрын
I would love to get this for my fleet, I wish they did release this without the drones but because they're not something tells me that they're suspecting complaints that its less than half useable and "pointless" since we got the bigger refueler. Unable to currently use drones and ship hull repair that affects the ships HP and not just visual and only able to refuel. I see why they didnt bring it out yet.
@TheObiShinobi Жыл бұрын
The way Stanton is setup we don't even need refueling ships. I hope they spread gameplay into deep space where ships like this will shine.
@olegtryniak7528 Жыл бұрын
Pyro is 5 times larger then Stanton with fewer safe stations to refuel. Also there should be regular star flares that can damage a ship during travel. So Starfarer and Vulcan should have lots of work opportunities there.

12 SCU is going to make this thing inept. Think how much space a size 2 weapon takes up. Or a set of each components. Otherwise you will have to take the contract. Do 13m km to the component location. Buy all the components specially for the contract. Jump back across the system. Fit them. The thing needs to be big enough to house a couple weapons of size 1-2 couple missiles, couple size 1-2-3 components and some hull material. It realistically needs 30-40 SCU. Even if some of that’s external
@polla2256 Жыл бұрын
I think the context is just to get ships moving again not necessarily back into the fight. I'd like to ability to get moving again after soft death or engine loss and limp to the nearest port for a full repair. That said I do think external cargo capacity is much needed for a ship like this.
@timothyt.825 ай бұрын
You could get a ship with external cargo, like the Hull series, and ferry your weapons alongside the Vulcan. It would add another layer of coop gameplay, especially around large MMO events.
@DeepRunner1-y1l2 ай бұрын
Chances are the ship drones will repair all outside damage in space but also they will also manufacture the weapons or repair the weapons right there with a manufacturing process possible along the lines of 3d printing inside the AEGIS VULCAN and they only need to carry material and fuel as well as ammunition. now one SCU of material may construct up to 5 or 10 more SCU of production finished product so twelve would be more like having 60 or more. Recovering a damaged hull to contain atmosphere only requires a 10mm thick surface so 1 SCU material is 1 meter by 1 meter times 100 that is a lot of surface area 900 or in English units over a 1000 square feet of surface area a 1/4 inch thick, now apply that to all construction and it will go farther than you think. Also this is alpha and they could change the cargo area with the push of a button just like they just did with the Intrepid size 3 gun went to a size 4 in the blink of an eye with missiles when everyone said it sucked and was weak for a starter ship. Thankfully unlike most game developers CIG is and does listen to all of us to make the game as badass as they can send your concerns to the CIG forums and let them know what you think it will help to get it built correctly , I have had this ship in my hanger since it was available for sale.

@olegtryniak7528 Жыл бұрын
I don't think it will be that usefull for large fleets as it can only perform basic repairs and refill just enough fuel to get to a propper repair/refuel facility. And it doesn't have enough storage to bring large spare components. It's more suited for stranded small/medium ships that need help. You can have spare S1/S2 components of all types in case they need a replacement. Also I'd have one of the team-mates fly an SRV so that if demage is too severe, ships can be brought to a station.
@PIN-o7 Жыл бұрын
@olegtryniak7528 you don't think that having a vulcan in the hangar of a kraken or idris won't be useful? To immediately repair light fighters and minor hull damage? Instead, you'd rather drag a light fighter with a srv through space? The idris would have ample space to carry supplies and repair material for the vulcan. The kraken has a dedicated workshop for ships, which would also prove useful to a vulcan.
@malikthebarbarian6815 Жыл бұрын
@@PIN-o7 The Kraken also has repair bays of its own. I'm fairly sure the Idris can also repair it's fighters. What they can't do is repair themselves. But the crucible can repair all.

Once jumping over large distances and using carries this ship will be very wanted because of all the fuel and repairing if ships like the Kraken or liberator don't have repair and refuel built in those ships

Refuel, yes. Though drones can perform only basic repairs. In case of a serious damage you should call for an SRV instead.

It's a great looking ship and i had it a long time in my fleet but im afraid it's over- staffed and too small for the repairs i (would) need. For a small org with a local skirmish it would be a great asset. I dont see myself dying, respawing and using it on my other ships to get the loot/cargo back out. Yet again a great review Pin and i cant wait to get my hands on this baby when it gets releashed because like everything it might suprise me after all. o7

drones not been announced yet, we need DRONE mechanics to become a thing. the DRONES as a "advanced EVA with multi+ tool" Drones might come after the EVA changes. but i really think they have to make the drones work in a way to Allow for "hot switching between drones" so a Opperator or 2 can use 4 at a time and put a drone in the hanger bay to load cargo or have one outside to repair the ship etc. (from reclaimer point of view very useful)

It has to get bigger. It simply can't do its job at this size. In order to rearm and repair it has to have a lot of cargo and it simply doesn't. Ammunition takes a lot of room. Missiles take insane room. I suspect a big redesign.
@thePrisoner1000 Жыл бұрын
I understand what you are saying and a bigger version would be a good idea, but they have talked about storing missiles, ammo, ship guns, ship parts and even fuel in canisters of some kind which then could stock ships and the Vulcan.
@andrewboyer7544 Жыл бұрын
@thePrisoner1000 it seems absurd though to require an entire other ship to help this ship do its only job. It literally can't do its job without a hull serious following it.
@olegtryniak7528 Жыл бұрын
@@andrewboyer7544 It's a starter ship. It's not supposed to rearm large torpedos or continuously supply missiles to fighters. It's job is to help stranded ships so they can get to a propper repair/refuel/rearm facility. Drones can perform basic repairs, store a small amount of fuel and replace ammo and a few missiles. That's it. For anything more you'll need larger ships like Crucible and Starfarer.
@andrewboyer7544 Жыл бұрын
@olegtryniak7528 the crucible is designed in a way that also precludes it from doing a good job. They lack storage space. There is no ship in the game that can do this job properly. The Vulcan should work in tandem with a large bulk hauler but it was marketed as a repair and rearm ship. And currently it looks like it will be terrible at both. Entry level shouldn't mean bad at the job. Prospector and Vulture are great at what they do... so should this.
