The Orions bulk ore capacity was 16,288 SCU prior to it's 100% size increase and the cargo resizing that happened years back, the 384 SCU which was 600 SCU is internal storage like the Arrastra has. I would also add that they hinted at the Starfarer may get some type of ore refinery gameplay since the rear of the starfare is modular so something to keep in mind.

I really hope they redesign the Starfarer's interior. Its original interior was supposedly designed as a scenario for SQ42 but I think with 8+ years more experience in ship design they can make the Starfarer shine as a modular ship.

similar thing to oxygen was done in game called archeage, they added player weight to ships to limit the number of players on ships for wars otherwise it would start sinking, because ppl used to get 1 really good ship and flood it with 50ppl for wars, when it was nerfed ppl started using more ships. cap was 15~20

That's really cool, seems like a good balance mechanic, It will be interesting to see when Resource management gets added to SC :)

Nice overview Z. The 384 SCU listed for the Orion is the non-payload (service) cargo capacity. The mined payload total hasn't been committed to by CIG yet. 😄 Be well and stay safe!✊🏼

The expanse is a really interesting ship for solo players, my hope is CIG will create a system for players to post contracts like npcs if they have good reputation that would allow more versatility than the beacon app

Expanse would make more sense if it was saddle bags in and boxes out. But if I consider this doesn't change then I think it's possible that the small refineries only do one type of material per refinery and it explains the saddle bag number mismatch away a little. This leaves the large refinery to probably be able to do full bags in one refinery less efficiently in terms of eaten material in the process.
