I have to make an addendum to this video, the beds for the vanguard do not double as escape pods like they're described as being in the original design doc, but the entire center section room will in fact detach and act as the escape pod.

That under-the-stair compartment is a new level of creative use of space. I really like that sense of necessity and utility. I'm sure everyone has their own take on these things aesthetically, but I really do appreciate the limited, sometimes cramped feeling rooms in these ships. Just seems more realistic.

When I saw your attempts getting a vehicle in the hoplite, I thought of Halo and how it would be cool if a ground assault vehicle could be attached on the exterior of the hull at the rear. It would block the ramp, needing to be dropped before the troops are deployed. I'd invest in a hoplite at that point.

@@wolfgamer8770 Nah, and even if it did the lawsuit wouldn't have much to hold on other than "it looks similar". The idea is too generic and you can't put copyright protection to the image of an externally air-transported ground vehicle, if you could, Microsoft hasn't done it.

I've watched alot of reviews for ships, this is by far the most visually informative review I've come across. With this type of review there would be no error in understanding exactly how a ship is going to look and function before a purchase. Good job!!!

I really like the look of the Vanguards. They are tough and well armed. But after fighting people on the current PTU in them I find them to be pretty sluggish and hard to maneuver. When fighting light fighters you can kill them pretty fast if they are negligent however after facing some particularly good pilots on the PTU. I struggled the most with a particularly skilled Arrow (this one definitely wasn't stock at least for weapons) pilot. I could tank damage pretty well however the arrow pilot was skilled enough to skate around me keeping behind my size 4 off of him and even though I tried to actively turn to hit him or burn away to create some distance but it was very easy for him to keep up or keep in my blind spots. His higher top speed meant had no issues matching me and and he could break vastly faster. I had a turret gunner but even he struggled to hit him with the two of us trying to coordinate to hit him. I even struggle to hit him missiles as they don't seem to do 180s well. He was by far the best pilot I've ever faced in SC this far and while he might be rare this game is in its infancy. I can only imagine how average the skills he used on me then will become in the future. I'll save you the super long fight description. He was firmly winning even with us having some tough shields to get through, and then his friend showed up and it was completely over (and it was a lot of fucking fun). The point is with support I think the Vanguards will be tough ships and be great at soaking damage and taking down medium sized targets like the cutlass black or freelancer. In groups they will be able to handle or at the very least chase off most lighter threats without much Issue I would think. The problem is that I feel like most larger orgs will be able to run things like the Hammerhead in place of a vanguard group and most smaller orgs will focus on lighter fasterships Arrows and back them up with something like the Kraken. Don't get me wrong i'm sure they will have they're place in the verse Its just not a ship I see much purpose in dropping any kind of real money on. Especially not when I can buy a cutty for cheaper and having some really versatile, or a Sabre Raven or Aegis Eclipes and have something super niche. Thats not even considering utility ships for mining, scavenging, fuel production or repairing. What I'm trying to say is I think the Vanguard is a ship people should purely wait to buy with in game currency unless they really want that LTI on it. Personally I like the Idea of LTI but to much of it and I think it will lower the risk I have in game to much. I will say the AI bounty missions I did with it were pretty fun. Having a turret gunner and that size 4 can make quick work of AI run ships large and small. TL: DR Great looking ship, fun to fly, Great firepower for size, durable, sluggish but good AI bounty hunting. Not worth in my opinion on spending real money on unless you desire it to have LTI.

I hate to break it to you, your skills are lacking. When facing a nibble craft compared to yours. Go max speed de couple, spin around and blast them. This forces them to ither give up or take damage.

Replace the default Gatling with a m7a cannon to sync all the weapon pips and two to three hits from this weapon loadout will disable most single seat ships. Stick 2 418 missile racks on the bottom of the ship to deal with lights once their shields are down. That plus a turret gunner with scatterguns will deal with light fighters quick and easy. Use Decoupled mode to get distance and light them up with the big guns and finish them with the missiles. It doesn't matter how good of a pilot they are if their tiny ship detonates after 3 hits or 1 hit and one missile.

I think what makes your channel unique and special to me is your storyteller presentation style. Keep it up and I will keep coming back :) CIG listened to us when we asked for it to be a heavy fighter but they only made it heavier lol. Where are the heavy weapons? it should have at least 2x S4 gimbles. Many of the smaller fighters have a much better alpha strike or sustainable DPS. Thanks Again.

Thanks again for a great video, this series you do is fantastic, Mr. Law! Two comments: the avionics is one medium and one small computer that further emphasizes the redundancy of the Vanguard series. Might be good to mention that specifically also. Secondly, it might be possible, with a two-person crew, to maybe bring a gravbike onto the ramp and raise it up. Keep it in the airlock. I do not know as I do not own this great looking ship. Appreciate the time and effort you put into all your videos, keep it up.

In really hope that the rangers will fit inside the Vanguard Hoplite. I can allready imagine seeing an Hoplite making a hot drop, opening its ramp and two Ranger TR come speeding out guns blazin, followe dby a squad of marines.

The Hopolite will accept the size 4 missile racks it is initially not equiped with. I did this in 3.5 and all iterations of 3.6. So, if you want a Vangaurd your best option is a Hopolite with a Warden BUK.

I went with the Warden for that long-range habitability. Going on a long trip? Definitely need a head and galley, small though they both are. Also, just learned about that under-stair compartment for the radar. Very well hidden and a good use of space.

I personally dont see what the rework brings on the table for space use but the inside is a definite + I dont think the weight change will be much a factor as it was not light ship to begin with and top speed was not... top

After Earning enough using my 300 series I'm going to buy a Warden and name it Oathkeeper, if/when we can start decking them out with paintjobs and decals I'm going to style it after my Warden in For Honor.

I'm tempted to upgrade my Super Hornet for the Warden but the hardpoints just seem a little underwhelming. I love the interior but wish it had at least 1-2 SCU that you could place in the storage compartment for mission boxes. I guess if it did it would be too OP. :/

The hardpoints seem underwhelming but what you get from it over the SH are more, bigger missiles, greatly increased durability, and the jump range and q-fuel to keep you going for an order of magnitude longer than the other fighter options
