Remember, if you're not hunting for LTI tokens, this little 'useless' vehicle will be available to purchase in-game next quarter for probably around 300k. So feel free to save your $25 if all you really want is the vehicle. Personally I would suggest getting a Pisces for 406k. It's actually a ship with a quantum drive, and exponential more useful then this hoverbike.

I melted my Freelancer (with 6 months insurance), I bought this for the LTI and then I CCU up to the Freelancer Max, which I was planning to do to the base Freelancer anyway. Now I have the ship that I want, with LTI. This is the ONLY reason I would have to buy one of these with real world dollars.

@@Glathgrundel Smart move. A Freelancer Max is a very useful ship. The Freelancer was my initial pledge ship many years ago and it got CCUed to the MSR when that came out. I missed my Freelancer, so I bought the Max in-game. It's not as 'cool' as the MSR but it is easier to get in and out of, carries more cargo, and has twice the pilot firepower. 😆. Another smart move is to get a Prospector. Mining may not be thrilling, but when you bring in that 300k load of quantanium you soon find you can afford to buy many ships in-game. Right now I have 9 million and am wondering if I should blow it buying a 600i. 😉

Bought this on warbond for the token, and tried it out a bit in game. Though it will fit in most cargo bays; getting it in or out of a ship is a nightmare. The nacelles clip and get stuck in EVERYTHING. Spawning this thing at a space station is hit or miss; as the nacelles will frequently spawn in the pad, and essentially break the bike.

No ground vehicle is worth buying with real money. They are all cheap enough to buy in game with relatively little effort. But as an LTI token... Ok. If you 'need' LTI. This is probably the cheapest LTI token we've had for a while. But at the rate they're going, vehicle insurance probably won't mean anything for another decade. IMO, buy with real cash & LTI on two or three major/important ships. So with this game ever does reach completion you will always have those available. Because RIGHT NOW in the Alpha, every ship technically has LTI. The only difference right now, is that when they wipe the Alpha, is just any ship bought with real money (with or without LTI) are there after the wipe.

My recommendation here is to not fall too deep because if LTI: most ships at the 2 yearly sales are offered with 10 years insurance, which, by all account is an LTI in game development terms. Keep in mind the timer on this 10 Year insurance will start only when the game will fully launch so at the moment is frozen to 0

I just purchased a hoverquad! Not for the LTI, but because I was looking for a vehicle to use when mapping out caves. I needed a vehicle because the compass oh a vehicles HUD is so helpful and almost necessary when actually mapping and navigating. Headlights, higher hover ability, and extra cargo are nice bonuses, but not as important for us mappers as the compass. I know there's not a lot of people mapping caves, but for the few that are, consider the Quad.

I'm going to watch this because I've always enjoyed Youngblood's work, but before that I'm going to give my answer: Hell no, you shouldn't buy the Hoverquad. CIG have lied and delayed for years and now they're giving us less development info because we're starting to call them out when they fail. We shouldn't be paying CIG for that kind of behavior. Not that my opinion matters anyway, because people are already picking this thing up in droves and delivering CIG a huge payday, but I urge you to avoid this thing if you're on the fence. Don't support CIG until they can deliver on the expectations they set.

Honestly, at this point, with the slow development, the lack of transparency, the lack of clear goals or even a rough realistic release date for either SQ42 or Star Citizen, nobody should really be buying anything anymore from CIG. And that's coming from someone who is one of this games bigger whales.

I decided to stop investing in this project after I got described as 'noise' ... however, after the $700+ that I had already put into Star Cit, I ended up getting this just for the LTI. Now I'm going to sit SC out for a while, until Pyro or even Nyx comes in and the project is back on some sort of clear trajectory, then decide where I'm going from there. I haven't lost 'faith' in the project, but I have lost patience and my trust/goodwill in CIG has taken a big hit.

@@Numinex22 I have my doubts, but sooner or later someone - maybe one of the major game developers - will see the enthusiasm that Star Citizen has generated (ie: the buckets of money people have invested) and create something like it but will do it properly and release it within a tortoise's lifetime. Technology and consumer interest will make SOMETHING like this happen one day ... maybe even before CIG finally manage to get their shit together.

It seems a great ground vehicle if you want to take advantage of a naively low signature for stealth operations. That aside a great LTI Token. Bought a few for my daughter for whatever she wants to do. Would have been great for a second seat but otherwise a great offering.

If you won’t miss the $25 and don’t mind that it will be easy to get in game for about 300k aUEC, it is nice to have an LTI bike sitting around as you never know when you just need to get around and want a vehicle you don’t have to worry about insuring and upgrading guns/shields etc.

Guess since storage is this bikes gimmick, that CIG likely just cancelled the Dragonfly's 'saddle bag' storage and the option is was meant to have where you remove the passenger seat for extra storage.

I got this thing for free and i've only ever touched it once. I've been thinking MAYBE i could get a ship with a cargo bay and store this in it but speaking honestly i dont travel far from my ships due to fears of piracy (i've never had an attempted hijacking but i've heard enough stories) and tbh furthest i ever went was 2km to avoid being blown up by turrets. It's only use is for people looking to do missions on the same planet you spawn it in tbh

At this point I do not trust CIG to not nerf every vehicle *after* the initial sales period is over. So yes this hoverbike is outperforming the others _for the moment._ But I would not bet on that forever.

When another sale comes around I usually use that occasion to donate some more money to the project. I usually get a few ship skins, gift cards or merchandise. When I like a ship and can imagine it standing in my hangar I will get that instead. Since I have accumulated quite a bit of store credits in the last 2 years I also a few of those Hoverquads and a couple of skins for them. When deciding if I want to get a ship with real money I do not take into account its perceived real value. In the end its about funding the project and if one does not want to fund the project then I would never recommend buying either space or groundfaring vehicles. Both are just imaginary items, digital toys than can be earned and / or used in game without spending extra money.

Designed to be paired with the Nomad and put out on Valentines day as a special. Shame on them. You can land it in the Nomad, however it is not stable at all. If you try to store it on ship, the landing zone will give you an impound, or it falls out, trying to carry this vehicle or NOX was just a mess for me every single time I have tried. This kind of crap? Keep it all out of the game until it works. To the guy at CIG who had the job to make these vehicles stable (NOX and HOVERQUAD) in Nomad? Find a new job bud. Its not even stable in a Connie either. I want to add the ROC fits wonderful in the Nomad but seems that they made a brief animation as it lands to get over issues or something like that. So if they fixed that they should fix these too. For those who are going to come here and say "Dude get gud" etc, I really do not want to spend forever trying to land this only to have it fall out or turn sideways or be unable to be stored.
