That's what they're doing: Squadron 42 appears to have a ton of cut scenes, easily qualifying the game as a movie experience. The soundtrack is done by a different guy, Geoff Zanelli - so we actually got TWO award winning composers for Star Citizen. I think both got an award or two. Right? If not, they do in my little world ;-) Money well spent, imho.

This song represents the inspiration of this game and project for me. Through all of its ups and downs, the hard work of everyone involved, it is truly a testament to the human spirit and the triumph of collective vision demonstrated in that Star Engine video. It is this theme that I will associate with Star Citizen and the people who made it. Pedro and Lara captured the feeling perfectly, thank you.

I seriously got no idea why they haven't published this track after the star engin video! it is soo insane! (I even think the one from the star engine video is better because of the low puls, the percussions, the different mixing and the different melodie... but only slightly better :D )

I feel like for a lot of Star Citizen fans, or at least, followers, this music represents all of those years developing and reworking systems to finally put them into one cohesive world and experience. It's quite literally, something greater than the sum of its parts. The recent gameplay showcase at CitCon24 would not have been possible without those gameplay mechanics interweaving together.
