As an IdrisP to "K" and M (might convert some parts to another K package) owner, watched this whole video and now feel there is a lot more meaning to owning my idris ships. I had no idea there was a luxury idris in the verse, that sounds exciting!

Yeah, it's a minor detail, but significant. I wouldn't expect players to have access to such conversions... But I'd probably be less reluctant to part with my Origin ships if I could apply some luxury touches to other ships... Not that something as large as an Idris is something I'd want... Really, when I think about what I want out of my ideal ship, it'd basically amount to smashing together a 600i and a hercules. (Ironically that seems to be what the original 600 series was in lore; a 'luxury freighter') So really, give me a c2 with a luxury interior or on the upper deck, or a 600i with major cargo space (and ideally a small shuttlebay.) Either would do it. But my point I guess, is the general idea of being able to do conversions of ships to have them take on roles they aren't officially designed for, or altering the interior styling to make them feel different on the inside...

For sure! It would just be very expensive and not ideal. See the episode on the Carrack as to how military capital ships do at the exploration side of the verse. That being said there isn't theoretically stopping anyone, especially given that it's an Aegis ship.

I think it would be cool to have CIG add some basic Rust buckets/ Salvaged ships. That you can buy for pennies. From earlier in the lore. Because just hearing “easier to produce then earlier ships of the line” makes me wonder what the previous ships of the line look like and how they changed things. Buying a old ship from grim hex or levski and fixing it up seems like fun. Instead of just purchase and go.

Did CIG name the Idris after the Welsh name meaning ´´Ardent lord´´? It came to mind since the Dominus pack containing the ship, is named by the Latin term for ´´master, Lord´´. Or did they have the Arabic name in mind?

Looking at the UEE emblem for so many times now, I wonder if the light blue was adopted after the fall of the Messers or it was the color all along or perhaps the emblem had many iterations over the generations. To me the United Nations' blue seems like a neutral color, too "soft" for a dictatorial empire.

In comparison to the Idris-P: The Idris-M has heavier armour and still contains military components, as it is the military version.

Idris as civilian ship with the manning is about right, But for long range Military patrol frigate 28 crew could not do the mission it is designed to do. Considering that it is supposed to be able to complete a number of missions and be able to keep a system secure I think a crew of 60 is required. CIG have not thought of this one bit. In SQN 42 I think they added 80 crew members that gave it a feel of a warship if I remember from two years ago. Being a long range ship each of would have their own bunk so I think they have done a poor job of it.

This is my first time watching this. And I realized something while watching this. It goes to people saying sci-fi series "X" stole ship design "Y" from sci-fi series "Z". Anyway, the Idris has a similar exterior shape to the Ion Canon frigate from the game Homeworld that Drew Wagar recently played through. Edit to add that I'm not even a minute into the video at this point.
