Sir in Optima Secure product if the base sum insured is 10lakhs then a person gets 20lakhs sum insured, but my question is a person can CLAIM a single bill of 20lakhs or only 10lakhs. as you say that secure benefit works if and only if the base sum insured is exhaust or it is used.

It is covered from day 1. Exhaust term was actually for restore benefit... Not for secure benefit . So, if you take sum insured of 10 lacs, then you can claim 20 lacs in a single claim

Optima secure is very good policy. You can continue with that policy. Star policy may offer more choices but hdfc is more liberal in claim payment

Claim settlement wise hdfc ergo is slightly better because of less number of grievances reported against hdfc ergo. Rest star is no less in coverage etc.

Both are good plans. Star comprehensive covers maternity as well provide opd cover up to some limit. Therefore among 2 star comprehensive is better.

See star has more options hdfc is good in provide claim servicing, I mean less hassles. But at your age you may need maternity cover which is not available in secure policy. So decide which covered you need the chose the plan.

If you are looking for maternity coverage, modern treatment cover, opd cover etc then star comprehensive is better option. HDFC policy providing more sum insured in same premium but terms are not much diversified. Hope you got my point.

@@GANVE yes I know. But hdfc secure is all about more coverage. Means more sum insured option. Various coverage like opd etc are missing in that. Star provides various options other than coverage. You can ignore maternity cover.
