You can't take a piece straight down, only on the diagonal.

All time favorite board game. Many years ago I made a wooden version, with folding board and wooden pieces for an x-mas present to my family. I think I'll do it again for myself. Such a great game.

You should switch the opening setup so that the T-piece starts in the lower part of the board where you have your 4-piece. Basically just switch the order around.

You have two rows is you play two people. And one row is you play 3 or four. THe stagegry is to get the small one with the t to the other corner.

I've had this game for years, played it about 15-20 times. It can be a good strategic challenge, but it lacks a sense of offense: defense tends to dominate strategy so games become evasion rather than cohesive attacks

I disagree...depends on developing an attack strategy. Some of us were introduced to the game by a friend who has been playing with his brother for over 20 years and he plays very aggressively. There are more conservative/defensive strategies or more aggressive strategies...it really depends on who starts the game and what moves they make. In my view, setting up for controlled, aggression is the best way to test your opponents ability to defend!
