“Commander Tucker is so angry that T’Pol’s going through with her arranged marriage that (as he later reveals to her mother) it’s at that moment he realizes he loves her. He shows his love in a way that’s appropriate on Vulcan: by doing absolutely nothing, allowing her to do what she needs to to improve her family’s standing.” Watch Every Star Trek EVER on Paramount+: www.paramountp...

It's my impression that T'Les found Trip's concern for not making an already fraught situation for T'Pol, even more so, made him appear to be admirable in her eyes, at least as much as she would grant that distinction to a human.

Agreed, she says she doesn't condone their relationship but you can rell she doesn't dislike him and has developed respect for him. Probably why she told him this, she figures that if T'Pol were to fall for a human she at least chose a decent one.

A huge nod to T'Les is that this marriage was about protecting her from political backlash. She actually put herself up as a sacrifice for her daughter's happiness by encouraging Trip to tell her. THAT is deep acceptance.

T'les was a member of the Syranites. Although they're Vulcans, they conduct themselves differently and although they're not emotional, they seem more attuned, more spiritual and well.....they essentially become the Vulcans we grew to know.
@Nezuji
@Nezuji 4 ай бұрын
Although Vulcans were originally depicted as "emotionless", I think that pretty quickly we learned that they do have emotions, but control themselves and try to detach their thinking and behaviour from them. As humans, one of the best way to "control" our emotions is actually to be completely in touch with and aware of them at all times. To make them an active part of our thought processes, so that we can make allowances for them and limit their impact on our decisions. I picture the Vulcans' intellect the same way.

He only meets one parent, T'Pol's mother, who doesn't like him at first, but soon realises he might make a better mate than Koss. Koss could've fixed her appliances by now, but he didn't. He's an architect, not an engineer who knows how to fix things. I think T'Pol secretly preferred Trip since she wanted an excuse to make Koss wait. She either kissed Trip on her own to tell him to be patient or because her mother gave her some kind of hint to let Trip know she really wanted her daughter to chose Trip.

I didn't. I watched it all and it got better. It was "DS9" that I got bored with as it got too dark. At least, "Enterprise" had humour at times and a cute dog. I think it might have been boring if T'Pol had remained the indifferent Vulcan with those greyish or brownish catsuit. Even Spock and Saavik1 were more likeable. Saavik2 was less Romulan.Dr. Selar was cold and so was Valeris compared to T'Pol. I kept watching and was glad she changed, but I don't think she should've been too vulnerable or fragile. The Trellium poisoning from the Seleya should've been enough w/o the addiction added to it. She got Pa'nar Syndrome from Tolaris-and it was supposed to be an analogy to AIDS-but it her than the Vulcans and Phlox saying it affected her neurological, adrenal, and immune system, we don't really see exactly how it affected her.

Not creepy. She obviously would not allow trip to wear them if she did not approve of trip in someway. Its a very subtle hint of Tles thoughts about trip. Gota read into it a little bit.
