It's fascinating to see the wormhole sequence without the vocal effects they put in. Since Shatner was talking about looping, I imagine, they still had some more looping to do, and that included this scene (He said he only saw parts of the movie, so I am guessing they still had some work to do, or maybe he meant he only saw the parts where he was in it, and had to loop his words?) We didn't get Jim'll Fix it in Canada (or at least, I don't remember ever seeing it), but I knew about it because I used to read Transformers UK comics (among a few other comic books which we DID get in Canada) and it was referenced a bit (remember, this is before internet, so my only exposure were these bits from British media)

Huge Star Trek fan...old enough to have seen the colour, re-run, originals on British Tv during the early 70's when I was about 5 or 6 years old. I thought I'd seen most things from Trek, BTS, trailers, interviews, the tv series, movies & then I spotted this linked wording...Star Trek fan visits The SET of the Motion Picture (Trek's 1st film & one that is still vastly underrated, it's not Trek as we remembered it but it's an EPIC story of Adventure & Discovery) how amazing is this! She must have been thrilled to bits, something I bet she's remembered for the rest of her life & when she sees this film it must take her back to this moment. I guess I'd have been about the same age as she is here & boy have I always wanted to get onboard the film version of the ENTERPRISE. I think there was a mock Enterprise Bridge Set-Up at one of the studio's or Disneyland (something like this?) which I had hoped to one day visit, not sure if I ever will now? or if it still exists? There were ARTISTS IMPRESSIONS of a full life size Enterprise placed in VEGAS for folks to wonder around (would have taken ages to do so) and with most of the things to have been in place...BRIDGE, SICK-BAY, TRANSPORTER & ENGINE Rooms, Games rooms, you name it & it was hoped folks could STAY the Night or make it a full week's experience with rooms to sleep over, looked really cool & was mooted around the same time as this first film, alas it never happened...perhaps someone? or some company (PARAMOUNT ;) looking at you) might just do this one day? It would cost probably many hundreds of Millions of pounds (but then again, a mock ship of this size, which is huge & many more times the size of most Hotels in Vegas, would BRING HIM huge amounts & would probably re-coop costs within 10-20 years. I guess perhaps they didn't think STAR TREK would continue for another 45 YEARS!!! that's how long it's been since Star Trek TMP, by now they'd have made a huge profit had they built it & in VEGAS of all places!!! PERFECT) That said, wouldn't it be COOL if at sometime in the FUTURE we had the real thing we could stay in, above us in Space & even if we could not use warp speed to head off to other Star Systems, perhaps we could visit the Moon or with Impulse like ENGINES even other places within our own Solar System. I loved Shatner as Kirk but then in later life the stories began showing up (in this internet era) and the one with Sulu (George Takei) is still ongoing, although not as strong as it was, it's a shame, I think Shatner even admitted he perhaps didn't take into account (at times) some of the original cast which helped make it the HIT it became & George as well as James Doohan (SCOTTY) seemed to have the biggest beef against him, but George took it to whole new level, which is a shame...looks the cast of the JJ movies really do enjoy each other's company & get on, hoping for one more BIG MOVIE from these folks? because the last three movies have all been hugely ENTERTAINING. The poster of this perhaps should EDIT out this EVIL MAN though here introducing the piece & then ending with his traditional award of the badge, how he somehow managed to get away with such unspeakable acts is beyond me & when I caught a glimpse of him I just had to fast forward past him to the NICE STUFF.

While I am happy for all the children whose dreams came true back then, seeing the jealousy in jimmy’s eyes when he had to remind her that William Shatner said I love you twice. I am amazed at the power Jimmy Saville possessed in his time. He was even knighted by the queen! He travelled in powerful political circles, had friendships with the British monarchy. He was able to have movie studios do what he asked where they normally wouldn’t have. I’m so conflicted with his amazing good works and darkness he visited upon all the children he was near.

This is odd. Bill gave different answers here than he did in other interviews. It might be understandable he's trying to sell the upcoming THE MOTION SICKNESS, so he's saying here that "this could be what the future is gonna be like", whereas today, he keeps saying we need to fix our home planet (such as on climate change) before we'll ever be allowed to leave it and go elsewhere. It's not even a recent thing, as even by the early 80s, he'd already been a long-time member of Greenpeace, which he still is. Now, as for the other thing he's responding differently to, on the mid-70s STAR TREK interview LP INSIDE STAR TREK, he says that a TV show has such a back-breaking schedule that you end up basically playing yourself from day 1. But the one answer I really cherish here is that Bill's asked about his personal feelings about and relationship with science fiction as a genre, both before and during TOS. The closest question I've ever seen him asked and answer before is on his recent "AI avatar" interview where he's responding to a request to define the genre in general to the young people of Gen Z of today, as if they'd never heard of it before, which doesn't include his personal feelings about it.

These Jim'll Fix It sequences were shot with one camera. Thus every time they cut to a close up of the kid smiling or asking a question the person they are speaking to is likely not whom they're actually looking at (their time with Shatner would have been limited). This explains why the kids always looked so damned wooden and bored whenever you cut to a close up of them. Here you also have a ridiculously extended walk through corridors, no doubt to flesh out the runtime to fit the segment because they didn't have enough Shatner interview to make it up to the required running time for broadcast. God this show was shite in just about every aspect. I realise people weren't exactly spoiled for choice back then but I'd have rather read a book than watch this garbage. I did watch an episode or two in the 80s as a kid, but only because they were Star Wars related, and I remember thinking then how wooden the kids on the show were.
