The Original Series had a different color scheme then the rest of the Star Treks. It's why Chekov, Kirk, and Sulu wear yellow in Star Trek. It later changed to Red being command, Yellow Engineering, and Blue Science starting in TNG.

You kind of completely described the game. It starts of kinda promising with some nice banter between Spock and Kirk. But soon becomes a very generic third person shooter. It just drags on and on.

I like the aesthetic. The ship's hallways and the JJ Abrams lighting provide nice atmosphere. However, the actual gameplay looks frustrating at best.

Speaking as a "true" Star Trek fan since I was four years old. No. This is not a Star Trek game in any fashion but a general coat of paint. It's all action non-stop with very little in the way of true exploration, no element of diplomacy or choice, or any of the things that make Trek truly Trek.

Am I the only that thinks that a Star trek game should have at least Metroid Prime amounts of scanning? Like close to everything you can see that is an object and so on, I seriously wanna know the history of those cacti and the people and idk.. what those buildings are made off etc, it would be optional afterall.. Half the shows and movies are scanning afterall.

The graphics look like crap. Gameplay is uninspired. Surprisingly though, I don't find it to be quite as bad as I thought. Dialogue is ok; voice-acting is alright; and that prologue actually caught my interest quite a bit. This is maybe something I would either rent or watch someone else play just so I could see the rest of the story.

It's a straight 3rd person cover shooter which completely misses the point of what Star Trek is. There's no exploring unknown worlds or communicating with other alien races, it's just a very shallow shooter. Also from what i've seen it looks like a glitch fest with horrible friendly and enemy A.I.

So, rubbish graphics, rubbish animations, rubbish voice acting, rubbish AI and the gameplay is a poor mans copy of Mass Effect (that is, pew pew lasers without all the actual Star Trek stuff in ME like dialogs, diplomacy, exploration, a storyline,....). I guess this game was made to make the new 'Star Trek' movies look less crap in comparison?
