There is something special about Trek. I appreciate post apocalyptic fiction and find it fun, but we need hope. Hope for a better future, a future where mankind is united in greater pursuits beyond ourselves and our pettiest considerations. Hope for a future free of deprivation and destitution. Hope for a future free of discrimination and antipathy. A future where we tread among the stars, boldly going where no one have gone before.

@@honeychurchgipsy6 The 'right' hate it? Where did you get that? It is true that there many 'Left' fantasies in Star Trek. Like a Black 'captain', 'chief engineer', 'scientist' etc. I am in Aerospace. *I have never seen a black engineer or scientist (except for DEI hires, who did not know anything, and just collected a salary).* There is nothing wrong with such fantasies. But showing Black men as 'chief-engineer' will not make more black men to become engineers. There was a reason why slaves came from West Africa. Hollywood cannot change genetics or evolution. While that makes some startrek episodes cringe-worthy, they are easily ignored.

With all the major captains in the series being still alive I always thought it would be awesome if they did some sort of Captain Reunion special in one of the current star trek franchises. Bring Kirk back somehow, then Picard, Janeway, Sisko, then some sort of time anomalie brings in Archer. Potentially Michael Burnham and Sulu could at least make an appearance, but the special would focus on those who were Captain throughout the entire run on their particular series. This is an opportunity which needs to be seized as Shatner is in his early 90s.

Instead of working together, we kept fighting, we blame each other, we hate each other, this world is now full of violence and hatred. After so many years of violence and conflicts, why are we still fighting, why haven't we learnt to embrace our differences, why haven't we learnt to cooperate, are we really evolved? This year could be a milestone for human history, we could put down our hatred, we could start to work together, we can defeat covid-19 together, no more doubt between us.
