Dude, I've been going through a handful of trek films again, so happy you uploaded these again, I've missed them!

Note to Rick Berman: PICARD IS NOT KIRK; STOP TRYING TO MAKE HIM KIRK!

I love the idea of Tom Hardy playing a double role as Shinzon and a younger Picard in flashbacks.

This is a pretty fair review. I honestly always believed SF Debris review was a bit too harsh

Agreed. He is entitled to his view but still, Nemesis I have warmed up to over the years.

Maybe but it succeeds in being really funny.

I gotta admit, I love how you’re wanting people to be consistent with their views that would be awesome but unfortunately that’s not the way most people are

When Star Trek Nemesis(2002) came out in theaters, there was an 83% drop in ticket sales on its second week!

In ALL of the crossover fanfiction and RPG stuff I do, Data's bs death is retconned. It was a massive insult to the fan community and should never have happened. Star Trek Picard's retcon of bringing Data back to life, although stupid and executed poorly, is actually one of the few things I agreed with; retconning RIP Enterprise D however...uuuuuuuuggggggghhhhhhhhh!
@bobo5774 жыл бұрын
My favourite scene in Nemesis is funnily enough the "Echo over the voice." part. It has issues sure and as cliche as a redemption arc for a villain is, it certainly would have been nice to give that to Shinzon.

I would rather watch this movie again then Watch Picard 🤗

Nemesis deserved a directors cut

This is my exact reaction. I don't think Nemesis was good movie, but it's about on par with First Contact. First Contact is just a shoot'em up action movie pretending it's more. Nemesis is a mediocre Wrath of Khan retread, with a few original elements. But TNG fans celebrate First Contact, while loathing Nemesis.
@charlesvan133 жыл бұрын
@Paul Thomas Johnson I wont argue with anyone who thinks Nemesis isn't good. But the consensus among fans is that it's an abomination. But the same people praise First Contact which was just as bad. Data even fucked a Borg in FC.
@redpillfreedom66922 жыл бұрын
Indeed after rewatching First Contact for the first time in over 15 years, I really don't see what's so damn special about it. I will say that the film is directed reasonably well but the writing isn't anything special.

@@redpillfreedom6692 The RedLetterMedia review of First Contact was a bit nit-picky, but the plot didn’t really make sense. Why would the Borg bother to try invading Earth against a fleet of Federation starships when they could’ve just opened a time portal and assimilate Earth in, I dunno, 1856?

I think the real enemy who 'milked' the TNG films for $$$$$$$$ and did not have best intentions for the Star Trek was Rick Berman. Rick Berman was consistently 'firing torpedos' at writers and directors by giving them so many disadvantages. Here are some of them in order: Generations: "Give William Shatner good screen time at the beginning and end of the film, do not put him on screen with the rest of the TNG cast( He would not want them to feel "alienated" by them ), also you guys have 4 months to get this done." First Contact: "YES Jonathan Frakes, you can be director of this film. Just remember to make it a time-travel story involving the Borg." Insurrection: "Mmmmhhhnn. The last film was great, but waaay too dark. Make this film lighter, younger, and about helping a colony who doesn't use technology." Nemesis: "Everyone was fired after the last film was a flop at the box office. Good thing I survived. I better get a director who doesn't know anything about TNG and doesn't care and will cause problems for my cast. I think its time to kill a cast member as well, let me talk to Spiner, he seems like a good candidate. This film will be just like wrath of Khan, leading to many more TNG films!"

I understand what you’re saying about the difference in terms of hate between generations and nemesis, but I think you have to also consider the difference in time period. Remember generations came out in late 1994 before basically the Internet nemesis came around when the Internet was starting to be around so information was more freely spreading some more people were able to explain how much they hated it. Also, when generations came out tng had just ended with an awesome finale and lots of trek was coming out so people were more open because there were more options. When nemesis came out, everybody knew it was basically the end when it was bad and that’s why people were so upset so you gotta take the environment and the spread of information into account in terms of comparing the reactions to these different movies

One of the few movies I can think of where Tom Hardy doesn't wear a mask!
@Otaku1552 жыл бұрын
Here's an idea; let's say you want to keep the 'Picard's Bad Heart' storyline, but without the stupid knife fight garbage. How about having Picard be BORN with a bad heart? You could even touch on the 'no genetic manipulation' laws in the Federation as happened with Julien Bashir. Making Picard overcome the disability to become a Starfleet Officer would be far more fulfilling and organic a character arc than the stupid out-of-character knife fight in a bar!
@jjb3308311 ай бұрын
They and us too, were too quick to celebrate the TNG cast, instead of letting them remind us WHY we celebrate them. Sisco and Janeway were hated and still are, and Kirk was literally canceled. False fan service, felt like a mask, for them being over their heads theatrically. IMO
