Regardless of what anyone else says, the actor's mannerisms in this series are ON POINT! Especially the "main trio" - Spock's logical sass, the iconic eyebrow raise, you cant help but immediately recognize him! Kirk's swaggering walk, the way he delivers his lines, it IS Kirk! Bones' southern sarcasm, his banter with Spock, its amazing! All of the actors involved in this project really embody the spirit of Star Trek, its wonderful to see how much heart they all put into it! ❤

Thanks for your comments. James has invested hundreds of thousands of dollars and a massive amount of time and effort into creating this web series. To read these mocking comments about his hair style is simply disrespectful and not typical of the Star Trek philosophy of tolerance and acceptance of all things different. That is why this episode is not listed on our main website and we usually delete all these daily hair comments and often ban the people writing them from this channel.
@andytay5507
@andytay5507 3 жыл бұрын
Not mocking, but that bouffant hairstyle isn't Starfleet regulation 😉. Something I noticed before and couldn't quite place my finger on it til now. You ban people because of hair comments ? Seems to me that authoritarian stance is not typical of the star trek philosophy either. But you were ahead of your time, foreshadowing cancel culture 7 years in advance by shutting down capillaritophobes who dare to offend you, so there you go.
@startrekphase2DE
@startrekphase2DE 3 жыл бұрын
@@TotalNormalMusic Only disrespectful comments can lead to a ban. All the same, we put a lot of effort, time and money into these episodes and when all you get is a load of critical and negative comments about Kirk's hair style, instead of enjoying a new episode of Star Trek, then such people cannot be real fans and for us, such comments are just demoralizing. If a guest came into your house that you were proud of and put a lot of work into and started hurling abuse about your hair style, would you not show them the door for being disrespectful?

This is a super-fun fan film that everybody obviously had a good time making. I remember watching it when it came out and how hard it was to get used to someone other than William Shatner in the role of Kirk. These days it's much easier to accept, and Cawley really did a great job. He brought real charisma to the role, and that's not something everybody has. I enjoy Strange New Worlds and most of the new Trek, but I enjoy this too.
@DJParticle

To be frank, when I first saw Paul Wesley's Kirk, my first thought was that he was playing it similar to how Cawley portrayed Kirk. Cawley (and Wesley after him) portrayed *Kirk*, Not "Shatner-as-Kirk" (like a certain other fan production that, regardless, I also hold in high regard). It was a refreshing take on Kirk in 2004, and it remained so in 2022 with Paul Wesley in SNW.

@@startrekphase2DE Pardon me for being blunt, but that shit needs to change. This entire production, right down to the cast, producers, writers, directors, Foley artists, SFX artists, musical editors, and you know, EVERYONE ... this needs to be picked up whole by Paramount (if they have at least one person left in charge who can still grasp the power of Star Trek, that is) and summarily removed from the category of fan fiction, placed squarely _into_ the category of _new Star Trek series that carries on with season 4 of TOS, with precise and loving attention to all the minute details that fans of TOS have been craving for over 40 years!_ THAT is where this needs to be, and all of you guys who did this need to be making good money doing this for a living because you do it as well as the people who did the bloody very first STAR TREK! The shortsighted idiocy of the Hollywood Money Moguls is always like an ice pick to the forehead. Now we have restored the timeline, we are moving on to concentrating on entirely new episodes in our universe. We will not be making any further JJ crossover episodes as there are way too many great TOS stories we have yet to tell and we are working on that.

NOBODY has yet appreciated that the Barrier only affects HUMANS with ESP. Spock was almost paranoiacally "more Vulcan than the Vulcans" because he's infected with (what Dr. Mark Piper would later call) "Mitchell Radiation Syndrome" in texts he wrote before he also claimed he suspected he was infected/irradiated and subsequently suicided, under extremely odd circumstances. Spock's Human half worried Piper, understanding that his logic could only overcome Human foibles for a short time. SPOCK WAS A TICKING TIME BOMB from the moment he flew through the shock wave between our galaxy and the "Wind Of Creation", the tumultuous boundary between "what IS" and the local neighborhood of stars versus the Wind of Creation, the center of the explosion we call the "Big Bang" to this day. Fortunately, Vulcans can "spread the wealth", psychologically speaking, so one infected/irradiated Mitchell-syndrome Vulcan won't immediately turn the Galaxy into Borg-like Vulcan metaculture ... but the Vulcans, and their irrepressible logic, will inevitably conquer the known universe if they only SHARE BETWEEN THEMSELVES! Gary Mitchell and Elizabeth Dehner were individuals, easily overwhelmed by their singular point of view. Spock is part of a hive mind. And they will quietly conquer, logically and incrementally, because he's irradiated but shares his poison with (pre-JJ) billions or even trillions of hive-minded Vulcans, Kirk literally saves the Universe because he's the only person who groks Spock.

James Cawley is a true fan and I glad he's doing this series . I also enjoy all the stars who appear in his series. It was good to see matt Decker again. I also like the Farragut series with Captain Jack Carter that Cawley guested on. These two are good series. The rest are a little hard to stomach at times.

Always nice to see William Windom again. Long live the tachyeon! While there are some shortcomings to this fan-made episode--mainly Spock's eyebrows, Kirk's hair--that's an Elvis-do, if ever I saw one---and some so-so acting by some supporting actors, it captures the spirit of the original. The music is always a plus. And the timeline has never looked better. Well done!

James was performing Elvis at the same time as this was being filmed. As his Elvis job pays to make these episodes which you can watch here for free, maybe you should pay more respect for what is being done here. Without James and the money he earns being Elvis, there would be nothing here for you to mock at.

This was the First Star Trek fan production I saw when I was in 8th grade, and from the moment the Enterprise was destroyed by the Planet Killer, I was hooked. Even today, I look at this, and later the Kelvin movies as the two things that restored my lifelong love for Trek. (not counting anything after 2016) I think James did a fine job as Kirk. No mocking here.

I first watched this when it came out in 2006. There was no streaming it then. I downloaded each clip from the website, pasted them all together with my video software of that time, and saved the film to a DVD. I think I still have that somewhere. (I did the same for World Enough and Time and To Serve All My Days.) Now I'm streaming it instantly on my phone. Amazing how much technology has advanced in just 14 years! And the work still looks great imho! Many, many thanks to all involved! 🖖😁

Holly, this is Pike's Enterprise in an alternative "mirror" universe so there are bound to be minor differences. And who is to say that Pike had not ordered the transporter-room to be repainted and the laser weapons upgraded to phasers after "The Cage" took place, particularly if they were planning to engage the planet killer. As to our production, the entire bridge had to be redressed for this episode and repainting the transporter room for one scene was not seen to be absolutely necessary.

James Osborn - So do I for the most part; it definitely has its high moments. It has some of the worst stinkers though too; Unimatrix zero for one, and that one about Janeway's ancestor at the turn of the Millenium for another. That second one is the only star trek episode to date i cannot get through in a single sitting; it bores me that much.

James Osborn - actually I rather liked that one; perhaps in part because i used to write stories of a similar vein whereas various people who have disappeared through history wound up in a Land of the Lost kind of situation.
