Keniclius 5 is voiced by James Doohan. He and Majel Barrett provided many character voices in the animated series.

It is a shame that the production companies (Filmation and Lou Scheimer Productions) that made "Star Trek: The Animated Series" couldn't afford to pay the entire cast from the original 1966-1969 live action TV series appear in the cartoon series, which is why Walter Koenig did not appear as Ensign Chekov in the cartoon series (although he wrote two episodes for the animated series). The animated series had a new navigator Lieutenant Arex in place of Ensign Chekov and a new cat-like character Lieutenant M'Ress who substituteed for Lieutenant Uhura in some episodes

So there's big ol' Spock running around out there somewhere? With mirror Spock and alternate timeline Spock, we got way too many Spocks!

Ok I want to see the blooper reel of the original series people as voice actors trying NOT to laugh every time they had to say what sounds like "Cunniculus". This episode reminds me of Monty Python's Life of Brian skit about Bickus Dickus. LOL

These episodes have some really goofy stuff and some high concept SF. However there is a serious strain of Scientology Lore and Sethian Platonist Gnostic myth in most of them. Scientology was really hot in Hollywood at this time. I wonder if the staff script editor (cough cough) might have been pretty interested in that stuff IRL. Scientology found its way into TOS and TNG, DS9 too. The final episode (about Lucifer) was right out of the Gnostic texts found in Egypt 1945 that were being translated in the early 70s.

That’s really interesting. I’d love to know more about it. Especially about the 90s shows. Do you have examples ?

...an amusing thought, but no. Star Trek takes place in the 23th Century. The first Robotech War aka The Macross Saga started in AD 1999 when Zor sent the starship Macross to Earth. By then the Zentraedi had already been created and served the Robotech Masters for many centuries. It is possible Zor created the Zentraedi in AD 1355

To anyone who's critical of the animated series, remember that this show was done in the _early 70s!_ Other shows of the time were the goofy Kroft shows (Puff 'n Stuff, Lidsville, Sigmund etc.) and mostly even more forgettable nonsense. There was even a cartoon version of _Lost in Space_ though they only made six episodes. It was actually way stupider than the original show's third season! And, this episode of TAS, _The Ultimate Vulcan,_ is not really regarded as a particularly good one..

no, Keniclius said Kzinti. If you are unfamiliar with the Kzinti, see Star Trek:TAS/Season 1/Ep 14/The Slaver Weapon
@gabriellavedier9650 Жыл бұрын
The Kzinti were an enemy to the Federation and a cousin race to Caitians, along the lines of Romulans and Vulcans. They were pirates and slavers but by the Voyager era have apparently made peace along the same level as the Klingons did, as there is at least one Kzin Starfleet ensign aboard the USS Cerritos.
