Your Gowron guy in 89 was a pic of Michael Dorn! Also met Armin Shimerman at a Galaxycon in Richmond 2 years ago, he also played Quark on DS9, and while all the folks were cool to talk to, he was the best! Took pics with him and he went out of his way to be friendly. Again all the Star Trek folks were great, he was just a little better than even them.

STAR TREK the next generation, was such an iconic TV series! I must have seen every episode at least several dozen times. To see of how the members of this crew have aged is absolutely fascinating. Some of them even though they were playing Romulans or Klingons, their facial features are so distinct that you could pick them out of a crowd after so many years. Others I could sit right next to them in a waiting room and I wouldn't recognize them if you would tell me who they are. I guess we all age so very differently.

The funniest was Patrick Stewart having a visitor badge on, like everyone doesn't know who the hell he is🤣 And I'm sure he has security at a convention 😂

I was born in 1985. I'm 36 now. Growing up my family was like.. "eww, don't watch stuff like that!" So I didn't.. 36 years later, I am 6 episodes away from finishing ALL of "The Next Generation" I love it so much and hate that I've missed out for so long.
@callicordova40662 жыл бұрын
You should watch DS9, too. I grew up on TOS, was a first skeptical about TNG but love it. Then I thought DS9 was too dark, but love it, too. Now I need to watch all of the Voyager and Enterprise episodes.

I met most of the TNG cast at various Cons (late 80's - early 90's). Had lots of fun with them. This was nicely done, but WHY did you have a picture of Michael Dorn as Robert O'Reilly's Gowron ? That stood out as a huge error. O'Reilly showed up unexpectedly at a Con where Jonathan Frakes was headlining .. came out of the audience & up on the stage & the 2 of them were hilarious together. Of all the casts (TOS, TNG, DS9, VOY, ENT), TNG was the closest knit, playing off one another so well .. which transferred into their performances & made the show extremely popular. I remember after the cliff hanger of BoBW ... EVERYBODY was talking about what was going to happen .. people I never suspected were ST fans. Great memories. We're ALLolder now but the memories are still great.

I love hearing the stories like where they tried to make the rest of the staff crack up doing faces while they had there back to the camera...
@billsomrak2 жыл бұрын
@@jonathanbair523 Yeah, the TNG cast cut up quite a bit ... which probably explains why it was a good day to get 7-8 minutes of usable film on any given day. There are lots of 'blooper' reels, but their escapes go way beyond that. John DeLancy (Q) told a story where he had to appear on the set NUDE (after the Continuum stripped him of his powers .. and clothes). Funny stuff. Spiner & Frakes were the usual leaders of pranks, which upset P. Stewart initially .. but after he was certain that this show was going to go on for many seasons, he joined in.

I was a little bit confused, cause Armin Shimerman, Marc Alaimo and James Cromwell had multiple roles in Next Generation, Deep Space Nine and First contact.

I know I'm nitpicking but we're Trekkers here. 7:09 is Suzie Plakson as the vulcan doctor Selar, that's not K'ehleyr, though she was K'ehleyr. She went on to be the mother of Marshall Ericson in HIMYM.

@@jplum7708 Oh hey, that's right, I was only thinking in terms of TNG. But I was focusing on that photo of Dr Selar. It irks me!

This is nice to see, but the ages are off for several actors (some aged 30 years, some 34 or something in between) and for some people you have the wrong photos (different role or different actor). But I still like the comparison!

Brilliant actors each,& everyone of them! TNG has been my favourite series of all the Star Trek franchises,& I was in my mid teens when it first aired. The thing that makes it work so well,is the way the characters are all so different,& yet harmonise together as if they were one. Warp 9...Engage! ~~~🛸
